These things have all happened, in this sequence, within the last four weeks.  Would you call them answers to prayer?  I don't know.  I didn't pray for them:

1)In a board game, the combination  of events led to a really unlikely outcome--immensely to my favor.  And it just unfolded naturally.  And right at the beginning of the game.  One week later, the same thing happened again.

2) Out planting along a roadside, at the foot of a hill, the soil was hard clay.  I knew if I trekked back to get the proper topsoil, and then return, I be unable to finish.  Suddenly, I reallized that of all places to find the richest topsoil, would be at the bottom of a hill, in the ditch, b/c of hillside runoff, during rains, just feet from where I was standing.  Sure enough, just a shovel's width, the best, dark, riches topsoil, at the bottom of the ditch,  barely feet away from where I was planting.  And all I ever needed.

3)  At the back of the grocery store, I was arms laden with groceries.  I'd hurried into the store, thinking, naaah, I'm only getting two items.  But here, all the way at the back, with still more stuff I'd suddenly remembered to get, and the carts were all way up at the front, where you walk in.  Sigh.  Then, I look down, there's an empty cart!  Oh, it must be some one elses.  Nope, no one around.  Just sitting there, completely empty.

4)  For several years, I've learned bar-b-que.  Have realized, that when doing chicken, pineapple would really go nice.  One day last week, having forgotten all about that, I'm interrupted in my busy routine to open a can of pineapple for the cook.  Okay, whatever.  So I open it, leave it on the counter.  Later, separately, I decide to fix bar-b-q chicken, set the plate down on the counter, all ready to go.  Mmmm.  I glance over.  Hey, there's a can of pineapple, that'll really go nicely!  And it's the one she'd asked me to open earlier.    Undecided

5)  I kinda like this person I've seen occasionally.  But how to meet them?  I don't have a clue.  Hmm.  So I go on.  Few days later, will I take so and so into town and run errands.  Okay, whatever.  So we do.  We go to the store, pull up and park.  Immediately--I mean, it was like it was planned down to the millesecond, up pulls this other car--it's this other person!!  Right beside us.  We're not in the same circles, world's apart, but there it is.

6) Three weeks later, same request, same store, same kinda day, same time of day, I'm asked to run this errand.  We pull up, park--immediately, I mean, like it was planned down to the millisecond, this other car, pulls up, again right beside ours--it's the OTHER person I kinda like!!  Completely different circles, completely differen people, completely different routines, but the identical unfolding--down the very second.

The only one common element I can see to all six of these is, possibly, that they all involve doing something that I really wasn't "into" doing.  I don't care for board games, I don't like planting flowers along roadsides, I hate grocery shopping, I was against getting a grill, and I didn't want to go on either of those last two errands into town.

I have no idea, but it wouldn't surprise me if God wanted to make your burden easier. He's like that. I'm glad these situations worked out for you.

Thank you, Whitehorse.

I guess the uncanny thing is, like the chances of the bar-b-q and pineapple coming together in that fashion, perfectly timed, along with like the last two, there, 5 & 6, are all so remote.

It's like there's some design going on, but only when I'm not designing it.  Indeed, it seems to be going on when I'm doing things that I don't want to be doing.

And I can't make it happen--or even "pray" for it to happen.  (Though I do pray "generally" and specifically, of course.) All six of them are unreal, or "surreal".

Just "weird" I guess.

I don't know, but if something bad happens the next six weeks and it balances out then you know it's just average. Grin

Thanks everyone.

Yes, the bad comes too.  Nothing yet, though.  Except my own will getting in the way.

Trying to find that "sweet spot" of walking in His grace.

But once you "try to find it", then you lose it.   Lips Sealed

Hehe.  God has it all figured out.  I don't!!

Ah, but that's the beauty of it. If were possible for us to have a hand in it, we wouldn't receive the stunning, brilliant joy of knowing there's no other place that could have come from than the throne of God.

I'm so glad God is blessing you, bro. That's awesome.

Amen, Whitehorse! Our greatest joy comes when we "lose control".

Did you ever think that those are just every day occurances? Co-incidences? God has no time for shopping carts and Grocerys, if he does, he is a cruel man, what with the Wars and such all around the world.

He's got all the time in the world. He invented it.  Cool He isn't limited to time, either; nor to "wars and such". He is present in everything, not only the large and terrible, but in the very fragile and ordinary.
