Muslims, Christian clash in S. Cairo

CAIRO, May 11 (KUNA) -- Security forces succeeded in ending clashes between Muslims and Christians in the south of Cairo Friday in which three Christians were slightly injured, a security source said.

Around 500 Muslims gathered after Friday prayers in the village of Bahma, some 25 kilometers from Cairo, following reports that Christians planned to build a church without obtaining a license, the Cairo Radio quoted the source as saying.

The clashes developed to setting afire three houses of Christian people and caused slight injuries to three of them, he said.

The security forces controlled the situation and the incident is under investigation.
