Pakistan says use of force against Iran will be fatal for region
Islamabad, Apr 25, IRNA

Pakistan-Iran
Pakistani Prime Minister said on Wednesday that use of force against Iran would be fatal for the whole region.

Pakistan is against the use of force against Iran and would not extend any support in any action as use of force could prove fatal for the region, Shaukat Aziz told a delegation of Russian journalists.

The Prime Minister while highlighting the solution of Iran's nuclear issue in a peaceful manner said Russia could play an important role in finding the amicable solution to Iran's nuclear issue.

The Prime Minister said even Pakistan has invited Russian investors in the India-Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project.

Answering a question to sign NPT and CTBT by Pakistan, the Prime Minister said Pakistan could not sign these deals unilaterally as there is another nuclear state in the region and Pakistan's nuclear programme is in response to the tests by India in the region.

On the issue of Afghanistan, the Prime Minister said a stable, strong and developed Afghanistan is in favour of Pakistan and the region.

Referring to the increasing drug production in Afghanistan, the Prime Minister said nexus of drug money and terrorists, could be harmful for the region, therefore the world at large and specifically Russia should come up with alternative crop system to tackle the issue of drug production.

Replying to a question, the Prime Minister said Pakistan has taken effective measures to control the movement of unwanted persons, and deployed 80,000 troops besides fencing at selected places.

Not quite as fatal as allowing Iran to develop nuclear weapons.
