I saw a segment last night on Nightline about Colors restaurant.  This restaurant is founded and owned by the former workers  who used to work at the restaurant at the top of the World Trade Center.  After the collapse of the Towers, these workers banded together to form their own restaurant as they consider themselves "family".  The employee/owners are from all around the world and really love working together.  They hope to get a profit in another year or two.

They also have a special dinner for the family members of the employees of the restaurant that died in the World Trade Center.  The chef at Colors said he was walking to work when he saw the airplane fly into the building.  His staff was already in the WTC working.

Anyone here from NYC and have you gone to Colors?  Or did anyone else see this story?

Hello DebP,

I missed this one, but I did see a documentary recently about many emergency workers at Ground Zero who are now very ill from the toxic mixture of chemicals in the dust and debris. Many have died, and it was very sad. Many of the workers are so ill now that they can't work, and New York City has denied their health claims and benefits. It was a horrible reminder about just how bad 9-11 really was. Large numbers of Police, Fire, and other emergency workers are very ill, and it's unknown how many will eventually die specifically because of 9-11.

The story you are talking about sounds much more positive, and I wish that I had seen it.

Hello DebP and Brother Tom.

I had not heard of either story.  One is so beautiful and the other so sad. I am saddened that the news  about the emergency workers who are now deathly ill has not been more talked about. And to think that New York City has denied their health claims and benefits is horrible! 9/11 didn't stop in 2001 .. it keeps continuing.....

Unfortunately that is the way it is with all wars. We are still seeing repercussions from Korea, Viet Nam and the first Gulf War in the same manner. It is indeed a sad situation.

Yes, I've heard of the health problems caused by breathing in all of that dust, etc, from the debris of the WTC.  I'm so sorry for all of these people suffering so, especially due to this awful event.

Brothers and Sisters,

This is a reminder for all Christians to pray for and support those who serve us with such BRAVERY and lack of consideration for their own safety. These brave men and women of emergency services and the Armed Forces are in my prayers every day. I appreciate every single drop of sweat and blood in service to our country and my family.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Isaiah 55:10-11 NASB  "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.
