Tibby, there are forums where you're only allowed one account per IP. That means that anyone who posts from that computer has to use the same screen name. That isn't the case here, but it is at other forums. Am I coming across clearly? You don't know who is sitting at this computer.

I'm here to do the Lord's work. That's it. That means I work to encourage suffering people from many different forums. There are people with deaths in their families-many. Depressed people. Discouraged people. Some struggle with sin.

Now if I'm going to encourage these people, I don't want them knowing my gender, because I don't want them to lose perspective and start hitting on me.

Are you catching this? I don't want people hitting on me, and they can't hit on me if they don't know whether I am male or female.

Blessings to you.
Whitehorse.

Symphony, it's okay. It's just that believers aren't the only people who come here, and they already hate the truth.  Wink

Cry Sorry if you have been offended, Whitehorse!
I would never "beat" on you, and it is sad that other people would. I believe you are a wonderful Christian person, and your love for the Lord is a blessing to others.
It is not important for others to know your gender. What you are doing is wonderful without that. It is true that some people would honor or believe you less if they knew you were male or female.

Thanks, Willow. You're right-once they know, they take the encouragement the wrong way and the message gets lost. *sigh*

Thanks for the encouragement.

Thank you, Whitehorse Cool.  Some good points.

Yep, once everyone knows certain stuff about you, how do you erase that??  You can't.  You have to leave the forum.

For sure, being neutral allows me to focus on the issue at hand.

Plus, if others are also "neutral"--that is, not divulging anything about themselves, then it's interesting trying to figure that out by just their printed words.

Plus, it's a little like Heaven maybe--where there "..is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female..."
