Jesus loves the little children,
All the children of the world.
Red, brown, yellow, black, and white,
They are precious in His site.
Jesus loves the little children of the world.

This is a simple little child's song. One that many have sung or at least heard time and again. Or have you really heard it? "They are precious in His site." Yes, all children are precious in His site. Not just those of different skin color but those that are not physically perfect either with missing limbs, Down's Syndrome, MS, or a variety of other worldly imperfections.

There are many that are seeking only the perfect child. Perfect in physical form, perfect in behaviour, perfect in every way. They desire to rid the world of those that do not fit their expectations of perfect. They use "science" to determine if they are perfect even while in the womb. If there is an imperfection then they desire to get rid of them by killing the child. Disposing of them as if they are nothing but an old rag not worth anything.

Many of these people even claim to be Christians. This brings another point. Just what is a Christian. A Christian is one that follows Jesus. A Christian is a real disciple of Christ; one who believes in the truth of the Christian religion, and studies to follow the example, and obey the precepts, of Christ; a believer in Christ and one that openly professes that Christ is in their life.

To follow Christ is to follow in His ways. Jesus teaches us that we are not turn children away. We are not to reject a single one of them. We need to love them as Jesus does. That is truly being a Christian.

Mat 19:14  But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 18:6  But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Mat 18:10  Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Some will say that "they are not born yet so they are not yet a child". They use the word "fetus" to lesson the guilt and to imply that it is not yet a child so that they can appease their sin in killing the child. Yes, CHILD, not just a lump of flesh. In God's own words:

"...she was found with CHILD (not fetus) of the Holy Ghost." (Matt.1:18)  "

the BABE (not parasite) leaped in her womb." (Luke 1:41)

1Jn 4:7  Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
1Jn 4:8  He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

So true, and sometimes He loves us through little children. I have a daughter who will be three in May. Sometimes, when I look into her eyes, I see God looking back at me.

Thanks to all for the warm words of welcome. Our daughter came to us as a total surprise. At the time my wife found out she was pregnant, we were totally in shock as we had been together many years and had pretty much decided not to have children. I guess God had other ideas!

Now that she is on the scene, Little Salina is the greatest gift we could have received. She is such a special blessing, one that we treasure deeply.

I can certainly relate to this!  Due to a history of pregnancy complications (1 miscarriage, 1 ectopic pregnancy, 1 stillbirth) my doctor was extremely cautious during my fourth pregnancy.  He suggested amnio at four months to determine if my baby had any abnormalities such as Downs Syndrome.  I told him I did not want the procedure, because I wouldn't terminate the pregnancy and would accept whatever the Lord gave me. A few days later, I began to have vivid recurring nightmares.  I would dream the baby did in fact have Downs Syndome, or sometimes I would dream the baby had an enormous head or missing limbs.  Of course, it was nothing but futile attempts by Satan to weaken my faith.

To my surprise and dismay, I went into labor six weeks early.  My doctor had to perform an emergency c-section because my baby was in distress.  It was later discovered that there were three knots in the umbilical cord. (?)  My baby was not breathing when he was born and they had to call for a code team to revive him.  Talk about drama in the delivery room.

In spite of being six weeks premature, he weighed 5 lbs. 2 oz. and was healthy and normal.  The fact that he was born exactly five years to the day from his brother (stillborn), made it even more special.  My son is now 15, and I still look at him and marvel at how the Lord has blessed me.  What a mighty God we serve!
