Most people know that there is a God. However, He is abstract to them; because, they do not know what He looks like, and have never seen Him, felt Him or heard Him.  Many believe that He is a spirit.  However, they are not even sure what a spirit is.  Fortunately, it is not difficult to find Him, because, He reaches out to us and is knocking on every human heart, begging us to allow Him to enter our heart, and bring us peace and joy.  God is Spirit and Love. His Spirit fills the Universe.  Spirit is like a force or energy, which we cannot see; but feels its effect. While force and energy affects only material objects spirit, also affect thoughts and minds.  The Spirit of God is the Spirit of love that lead human minds and thoughts to acts of sacrificial love, and the energy that sustains human spirit to stay faithful to unconditional love during the most painful trials in life.  It brings sublime and enduring love in human hearts.

We often feel godless and do not hear God’s voice, because, our minds and thoughts are clouded by the business of the world. The world is full of selfishness. Selfishness is the source of evil in the world. Selfishness leads to competition, deceit, lust, betrayal and fear.  Fear leads to hate, jealousy and revenge.  All of them lead to turmoil in our heart and in our relationships with others. To hear and feel God we have to be quiet, free our self of all desires of pleasures and open our heart to His love. To free our selves of the desires of pleasure is very important, because, such desires tend to block our heart from being fully open to His voice. Most importantly, because God is love, we must meditate on His love which He expressed by becoming one of us and dying on the cross for our sins. This will fill us with joy and peace, His words become real to us and we will see His presence in the acts of unconditional love by human beings.

When the storms of earthly misfortunes destroys our stability and security, and there is no one to help us, we feel very alone and helpless.  Even our prayers and meditations seem to become sterile and fruitless. Our cries seem like, they go unheard and our faith begins to crumble.  Even our friends begin to say, “Why doesn’t God help him”.  However, we should not fear, because, this is the time when God in our heart can triumph, because, when we are the weakest, we are the strongest. When everything fails, we become very helpless. This helps us to surrender our will completely to God. This makes us the strongest, because, we allow God to be in charge of our life. Furthermore, when we are humble, we care about others, because, pride does not interfere in our effort to express /which is natural in us-which is love. In other words, the humility within us allows unconditional love (which is God) to show forth.

God stayed faithful to His promise although we were unfaithful to Him, betrayed Him and killed Him. He expressed it by accepting death in order to compensate for our sins. Furthermore, He commands us to love one another in a similar manner (Jn 13:34).

God is not hard to find at all. He has revealed Himself to us in His Word, we can talk to Him in prayer and be sure that He hears us.

Isa 55:6  Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Isa 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Many times God finds us, but some are unable to recognize or hear His call. The natural man cannot, only the spiritual.

That is why it is so important to spend time reading the Bible and praying. It is also very important not just to pray in a monologue sort of way, but spending some quiet time before the Lord. Sometimes when we here still small voice we think it's us thinking. We can be sure God talks to us in ways we don't know, He talked to Abraham, Moses, Paul, John, He is the God that never changes, He is not a respecter of persons if we learn to hear His voice we can.

Otherwise Jesus would not have said, "my sheep know my voice and the voice of a stranger they will not follow."

Amen, airIam2worship!  Yes, God does speak to us.  Unfortunately, sometimes we just don't listen.

I think alot of times people find Christ as their Savior when they cry out to God in trouble/hardtimes.  Also, when they meet a loving Christian and then start to realize that there is definitely something different (and very good!) about that person....and they realize that it is their faith in Christ.  Hopefully, they will start to read the Bible and then come to their own personal faith in Christ, and then grow spiritually.  Some take longer to grow, so we must be patient, and teach and bear with others in Christian love.
