Please pray for Bishop Simon (Kenya Center For World Evangelism) and Pastor Edward Husih.  I just recieved an e-mail from Pastor Ed and he said the Media is not reporting the whole story.  He said most of the people are out in the cold and fleeing. Cry Cry

Hi Leetoniafan,

Welcome to Christians Unite.

Yes, I have been praying for the situation in Somalia and Kenya. It is well publicized but I have seen where there has been a lot of problems for the people there and it is much worse than the liberal media makes it out to be.

At another Christian website, a young man from Nairobi, Kenya posts in the forums.  He mentioned Nairobi has the largest slum in the world!  He tries to help the kids by teaching them some acrobatics and crafts.  It's such a sad situation that there are so many of these huge slums throughout the 3rd world....people even living on garbage dumps....and not many Christians aware of this.  God help them.

Not only do some live on garbage dumps but there are those areas where the sewage from their homes are under and around the homes in open ditches and will drain off into their rivers (usually their only water supply). When disease hits it runs rampant because of such conditions.

It is disgusting to me that some so called Christians live in million dollar homes and own numerous vehicles while they know of these conditions of others.

I will certainly keep them in my prayers, as well as you.  May God strengthen you and send a special blessing to you and your friends.

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.  But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. (Mat. 10:29-30)

Yes, this is a truly sad situation and goes against our Lord's teachings......Often the people with the least amount of money give the most to these types of poor people.  I try to help native missions through Christian Aid....besides evangelizing, they also help the people living in dire conditions, and also run orphanages, training for former prostitutes, etc.  Sometimes former Muslims are denied access to drinking wells in the villages.....the native missionaries help by boring wells for them, and the Christians let everyone use their wells, often leading to people accepting Christ as their Savior.

If every professing Christian would help the poor even with a small amount, it would all add up and mean alot.  Of course, like you say, the ones with great wealth should help more!!
