Cult question

I was witnessing to a man today and come to find out he is a JW.  He said that he has accepted what Jesus has done for him on the cross, but my question is does that make him saved?  Is it possiable for cults to believe what ever they want about God but as long as they accept what Jesus did on the cross they are saved?  Could someone believe in something totally contrary to the Bible and still be saved?

My question would be, what does he believe that Jesus did for him on the cross?

Jesus Christ is very God, come to us in the flesh, died on the cross in our place, for our sins and rose from the dead on the third day.

JW's do not believe this so if he does then my next question would be why he is still going to a "church" that is totally the opposite of that.

Don't ya think it kinda gives creedance to that old three words you always hear pastors say "buffet style christianity" There's a difference in accepting what He did on the cross and being repentant about their sins. There are some who say "yea i accept that Jesus died on a cross, but I don't believe that he can forgive me of my sins" It's the forgiveness of sins through the shedding of blood that is the core to salvation...the death was the act that lead to the shedding of blood. And JW's are a very works oriented group...works don't get a person to heaven. Just a few thoughts

We must know that the devil believes in JESUS CHRIST, but the devil isn't saved and won't be saved.

It is faith in WHO JESUS CHRIST is, what HE did on the Cross for us, and our acceptance of JESUS CHRIST as Lord and Saviour over our life that is Salvation. This explains why the devil isn't saved, and it also explains why JW's aren't saved if they simply believe JW doctrine.

The same would be true for the members of Islam. They believe strongly in JESUS CHRIST, but according to them, JESUS CHRIST was simply a subordinate messenger to Mohamed. These folks are simply lost. There are hosts of other people who believe that JESUS CHRIST was simply a good man, a good teacher, a good preacher, and a good just anything other than who JESUS CHRIST really was and what HE really did.

There are all kinds of weird doctrines that are believed about JESUS CHRIST that don't amount to anything except being lost. As an example, what would we say of someone who believed that JESUS CHRIST was created as an angel and was a brother of Lucifer until GOD elevated HIM? We would say they are lost, and they would be lost.

JESUS CHRIST is and always was ALMIGHTY GOD - THE CREATOR! JESUS CHRIST was NOT just another man, NOT just another creation of ALMIGHTY GOD, NOT just an angel, etc., etc., etc. JESUS CHRIST is NOT to be compared to Joseph Smith, Mohamed, or any other man.

"JESUS CHRIST" is the most hated name that the devil can think of because JESUS CHRIST is the only way to be rescued from the curse of sin and death. Asking a person or a group what they believe about JESUS CHRIST is still one of the quickest ways to identify a cult.

Who is JESUS CHRIST, where did HE come from, who created HIM, and when was HE created? The saved know the answers, and the unsaved don't. It's really just as simple as that. GOD the Father, GOD the Son, and GOD the Holy Spirit are THREE - YET THEY ARE ONE ETERNAL ALMIGHTY GOD without any beginning and without any ending. THEY are THE CREATOR and MOST HOLY. JESUS CHRIST was VERY GOD made manifest in the flesh, and HE was the ONLY PERFECT SACRIFICE to rescue man from the curse of sin and death. HE was a carpenter, but HE was also ALMIGHTY GOD! Many logical men have a hard time understanding the simple fact that they crucified GOD (JESUS CHRIST) on the Cross about 2,000 years ago. HE suffered greatly for us and died, but he arose from the dead and is our LIVING Lord and Saviour. There are hosts of witnesses to the events of 2,000 years ago. JESUS CHRIST is the most written about in the history of man, but the TRUTH that we need is in the Holy Bible.

GOD'S WORD testifies of the TRUTH of JESUS CHRIST, and this precious TRUTH is the only way to Salvation.
