Hello Brother Joshua,
CONGRATULATIONS!
I'm still praying for you and wish you the very best in your marriage and in the Air Force. The Air Force and the Navy have outstanding educational opportunities, so please take advantage of them. All you have to do is take a battery of tests to see what you're qualified for, and they will do the rest. Many young people are going into the Air Force or the Navy specifically for the education and coming out almost having a degree that opens up the future. I'll brag a moment and say that my son served in the Navy and is a Nuclear Analyst at the age of 25. He only lacks a few mandatory classes to have a BA in Nuclear Engineering.
Brother, you might already have different plans, but I did want to mention the outstanding educational opportunities. The Navy and the Air Force have all kinds of highly technical specialties that they have the money to pay for. It will also help you get rank much quicker if you sign up in one of their educational programs. The only negative that I can think of is a 6 year commitment. Many of the special programs involve starting out at E-3 before even beginning boot camp. It might also involve a nearly automatic promotion to E-4 at the end of advanced training. Those who do well in the advanced schools really have it made, and the greater pay would be nice for a man trying to support a family.
Regardless of what you do, many of us here will always be praying for you.
Love In Christ,
Tom
Hebrews 10:23-25 NASB Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
