As believer each one of us will not die all on the same hill. We will have to choose which hill we want to die on and, or in some cases, or, that hill will be chosen for us.
Judge Moore is choosing this one. THis is his Rubicon. In fact, if Knox, for instance, will check the facts, it was as an elected lower court judge that Moore hung a plaque of the Tc's, which he'd made himself, in his courtroom then. It was others--the ACLU, etc., who challenged--and have continued to challenge all the way up to Moore's current position--which, interestingly, is also elected, by the people of Alabama. If they'd left Judge Moore well enough alone, I wonder if he wouldn't have just hung his original copy there and this wouldn't even be an issue. And the Ten Commandments, no less. There just sound rules for living--which one is it that you have a problem with?? I guess if Judge Moore hung a poster of two men kissing you'd all fall down and salivate.
Also, Psalms citation of their state constitution, "...ALmighty God..." slips by you so easily disregarded. If the state's constitution refers to that God, then why aren't they going after that too? Why isn't the Federal court coming doing and rifling through Alabama's constitution, too?
That seems to be Roy Moore's essential point--they refer to "Almighty God" in his own consitution, why can't he refer to it in his own elected court?
KNox: Well Americans will generally have forgotten this story fairly soon, so Roy has to keep his name in the public somehow. Just imagine! Going from a rural circuit judge to speaking before 10,000 people in just a couple years time. And what has he really done? Has he advanced the Christian message somehow? This is just another example of the power of celebrity, name recognition alone will get him the governorship of Alabama. That should be fun! Can't wait for his next assault on American values from the Alabama Statehouse.
Yes, that is true--the Romans, and the Sanhedrin there in Acts, were quick to forget the previous events too. For the Romans, just one more would-be Jewish "messiah" down there in that farflung troublesome province of Judea.
Knox And what has he really done? Has he advanced the Christian message somehow?
Hmm. Let's see. Graduate of West Point. Decorated Viet Nam veteran. Appeals for some years now--since 1992--for the Ten Commandments, an essential historical foundation to Christians--and written literally "...with the finger of God...", to be in his courtroom. Hmmmm. And "...what has he really done..."??
