This makes you stop and think where our priorities are?Huh??

Cell Phone vs. Bible

I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we turned back to go get it if we for got it?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to kids as gifts?

What if we used it as we traveled?

What if we used it in case of an emergency?

What if we upgraded it to get the latest version?

This is something to make you go...hmmm...where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we dont ever have to worry about our bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill!
Have a blessed week!

For those that just "have to have" technology in their pocket, e-Sword does have a pocket pc version. It makes a good all around reference available at all times.

I have a Franklin electronic Bible and I love it. It also has a calculater, adressbook feature, and the time and date.It has a devotional which is a scripture for the day. It has a learn a verse that you can turn on and a verse will come up when you turn on the Bible so you can memorize a bible verse. The best feature is being able to set the type size some of us over 40 can't read small print anymore Grin It's a newer one so it doesn't have a bookman slot. Some of the older Frankllins have a bookman slot on the back. I have a cool Denim Zip up pouch with a Bear on it and it says "Love bears all things" I take this everywhere. If I'm preaching somewhere I'll use a regular bible but for the most part I love my Franklin.

I sometimes forget my cell phone, (it's not as important) but I always have my Bible with me.  The Bible is more important, then the cell.  Course I have in my car, an extra Bible. Cause I refuse to travel, without one.  Not only that but if I meet someone while out.  I have another Bible, I can give them.

How many people turn down something free?  Not only that but it makes, for good witnessing.

My Bible goes everywhere I go, of course I have about 6 or 7 of them now, they are in the living room, the bed room, the bathroom, my desk, in the car, but there is one that I take EVERYWHERE, it has so many notes, I use it all the time. I sure would hate not having it handy when I want it.

Hello Rev. Belch,

I really appreciate you sharing this information. I knew about e-Sword for a pocket PC, but I don't have the money or reason to buy a pocket PC. I had no idea that Franklin made an electronic Bible with the capability to make the fonts larger. I'm just guessing that the Franklin electronic Bible would be much cheaper than a pocket PC, so I must to a Google search and find out about this. If the cost is reasonable, I think this would make a wonderful gift for people in my family. My wife and I did buy a pocket PC for a son-in-law because he really needed it for medical school. It was almost $500, so we obviously couldn't buy many of them. If I remember correctly, the Franklin stuff is tough enough to take anywhere and probably costs less than $100. I'm thinking about some missionaries in my family who would probably use something like this continually. Thanks again for mentioning this.

By the way, if anyone already has a pocket PC, the FREE e-Sword Bible study package for pocket PCs is top rated and OUTSTANDING.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Yes they are under a $100.00 and you can even find it at Radio Shack. Sometimes Bible book stores run a sell on them so check it out. I think I paid about $50.OO for mine cause it was on sale at the bible book store but way back when I also bought one from Radio Shack that wasn't too much. I bought a little denimn pouch with a zipper and a leather strap It has a cute bear and says love bears all things. It has a soft white fuzzy lining like a sheeps skin and was probably designed to be a change purse of some sort but it's just the right size and protects the bible from rain or snow. They have an electronic bible that has both KJV and NIV but that one is touch screen and I prefer the one with the buttons. I choose the NIV. I had a KJV and blessed my BIL with it as he is a baby christian and it was a blessing.

Yep a bible in the car.  And shortcut for one online for my laptop.

I keep the good book handy where ever I can.  Cause you just never know when God is going to use you.

Rev. Belch,

Thanks again for the wonderful gift idea. I'll shop around for a good price and at least get several Franklins for the people in my family serving as missionaries. I'm thinking right now about the two youngest family members about to go to Africa. They had a couple of delays in finishing their education and getting sponsors, but they will be going to Africa soon. Nobody in the family tried to talk them out of this, rather we simply asked them to pray about this and know what they were getting into.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Colossians 1:9-12 NASB  For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.
