Stilettos, Vanity and "Now I've Heard Everything"

United Press International reports today that women by the hundreds are having foot surgery to accommodate the current craze for stiletto heels.

Stilettos returned to prominence during the Sex and the City years, but have apparently risen to new heights (pardon the pun) as a result of the popular new film The Devil Wears Prada.

A New York doctor, Suzanne Levine, says she will shorten the toe bones of women in order to make a more comfortable fit in a pair of spiked heels.  She also offers Botox injections to add flesh to the ball of the foot.  That area is asked to bear three times its normal weight when placed in a pair of stilettos.  Dr. Levine wears 3 inch heels herself . . . in the operating room.

I'm sad to say that we probably haven't heard everything by a long way these days. It appears that the devil is working overtime in all areas. The Bible tells us that much worse is yet to come, so this should be a time of much prayer for all Christians.
