We Buckeye staters are admittedly proud of hometown prodigy LeBron James.  The Cavalier small forward inked a 3-year, $60 million contract extension with Cleveland today.  If the Lord tarries, he's locked up through the 2009-2010 season.

When LeBron was drafted out of Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, I was a "wait-and-seer".  All that youth and all that money.  But young Mr. James has been humble about his celebrity and philanthropic with his fortune.  And Ohio professional basketball fans have (finally) had something to cheer about.

He may be off to brighter lights and bigger marquees in 4 years, but we're going to enjoy LeBron for all he's worth (and that's a lot) for the next quadrennium.  Good job, Cavs.
