I'm not here to blow my own horn. I just want to show you the power of believing in God's promises.

I just wanted to share with you a bit about myself and how I started writing. It’s actually a funny story how I started writing, and I really hope it encourages you.  Grin

When I started writing, it is not what I thought I would be doing. You may not believe this at first, but I actually said to a close friend of mine that I would never become a writer, and that I wasn’t the writing type. But a couple of years later (I think) I was lying in bed one night trying to get to sleep. For some reason, I couldn’t seem to get to sleep. I finally rolled over, and I heard God speak to me. He said something that has changed my way of thinking forever. He said “Corallie?”, to which I replied “Yes Lord?” “I want you to write a book.” That was it. Nothing more, nothing less. Just one simple sentence.

At first, I thought He was crazy. I thought I was hearing things. I didn’t know what to say. So I just didn’t say anything. I pretended I was hearing things, and went on with my life.

Months later, I was sitting outside with my pet dog. I had this sudden urge to go and write something. I didn’t know why, but I went. I sat in front of my computer, and began to type. I had no idea what was going on, but I was obedient. I just kept writing. Today, that book is finished. It is not published in whole, but it was something that I had thought to be impossible.

But I was reminded of a verse that says nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37). “I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20) “What is impossible with men is possible with God.”  (Luke 18:27)

Even though it seemed impossible to me, God still made it happen. If God has told you something that just seems impossible for you to do, don’t despair. He can do anything if you will just believe.

I just want to say that without the anointing of God on my writing, and on my life, I can’t do anything. I’m not being negative, I’m being honest. Whatever you see in my writing is only the anointing of God. It is nothing in me, or from me. I just write. I don’t do anything special. I just tell it like it is. What you see is what you get basically.

I always say to myself and others that I know it’s not me. I don’t take any credit, all the glory goes to God. I’m just a person who is being obedient to God; nothing more.

But little less than a year later, that book is finished, I have had some of my articles published. I have written over 40 000 words worth of articles. I don’t say this to boast, or to say ‘look what I can do’. No my friends, I only tell you this so that you may fully understand the power of God in a person’s life. All this is impossible in my own strength. But if you will refuse to give up, and press through when times get hard; if you will keep on going, even when you feel like your world is falling down around you. If you will do what’s right, no matter what the cost. If you will simply believe God’s promises, then God can do miraculous things through you.

Whenever I write an article, I am reminded of that night when God first inspired me with the dream to write. Despite the fact that I had said that it was impossible, in my heart there was a faint glimmer of hope. That this promise could possibly come true? You know what folks? It did! All because I believed in what God had said to me, just over a year ago.

To this day, I am currently working on my third book. I just want to encourage you that if God has spoken something to you, maybe about ministry, or something else.... your dreams can come true. They may not always be straight away, but let me tell you, what God says He will do... that He will do it!!! Cool Grin

If you will believe God’s promises, even when it seems like nothing is happening, you will see them come to pass. Is God someone who would lie to you? I don’t think so. Whatever He says He will do, you can be sure He will do it. But there is a part we must play, in making these promises come to pass. That part is: we must simply believe what He says. If He has promised you something, you need to believe that He will come through on His promises! Just keep being faithful in believing His promises to you!

I too have done a lot of writing. I wrote a bible study, a couple of novels, 12 screenplays, and many essays. I almost got a screenplay produced but never sent my novels in for publication. I believe I have a lot to say in essays on Christianity but I have no credentials. I still don't know if my desire to write is from my own self-aggrandizement or from the Holy Spirit. Until I know for sure, and until I do, I'm not going to pursue it.

Hello Joyful_messenger.
Amazing how much our stories are alike.
I too have been given the gift of writing to fulfill His calling in me to 'teach and clarify truth'.
I too make sure people know that I am nobody, and that He chose me is amazing to me.
And with me, He just says 'paper and pen'. I do not know if it will be a poem, or a book, until I get into it. (usually).
As with you, He told me to do a study and a writing on the last days. (that one had to be done on my knees much of the time). Thank you for sharing, for it is nice to meet another soul who has been touched as I have.
God bless you.  Roy.
