What did everyone do this weekend, and what would you do if money were no object?

Got to spend the weekend with my fiance which we don't get to do often due to my shift work.
Had a great time, was so nice to be together.
If money were no object, we'd move to the USA, buy a house and start our family. Oh and move the wedding forward of course!
What a lovely thread to start the day!

I spent much of my weekend trying to collapse into two pages or less the impact for Christians(in USA at least) of this year's major events: Gay marriage in Canada(June); announcement by world's largest corp., Wal'mart, not to discriminate on sexual orientation(June); U.S. Supreme Court endorsement of sodomy(June); increasing church endorsement of sodomy(Episcopal, others, July); forced removal of Ten Commandments from court houses, August(word that other states are talking about it now, after Alabama)...
And what would I do if money were no object?
Wow. Now, spiritually, that opens up a whole can of worms b/c really, we already are "rich", in Jesus(I go to prepare a place for you....In my father's house are many mansions...!!); or, as Paul said, I have learned to be content in whatever state I am, to abound, and to be abased. So just adding a whole bunch of money to that, probably wouldn't change anything. I'd still just go ahead and do whatever I was going to do this holiday anyway. Maybe buy a bag of potato chips. I love potato chips.

Oklahoma Howdy to Whitehorse,
I spent the weekend with my grandsons and had a ball. My little guy is 3 months old, and the big boy will be 3 years old in December. Now this is entertainment at the finest!
If money was no object, I would probably give most of it away to my church, several missionaries in my family, and some of my favorite charities. We would always have hamburger with the hamburger helper. Now that I've mentioned food, I probably made Symphony hungry.
In Christ,
Tom

That sounds great!! They must be cute at that age.
I hiked and boated this weekend, and dream of one day hiking the Appalatian Trail-a 6 month journey. Ridiculous? Of course. But one day...(oh sure.)

Oklahoma Howdy to Whitehorse,
From a completely non-biased grandpa's perspective, they are the most handsome babies West of the Mississippi.
I'll give you a grin from the one who will be 3 in December. He's decided that he will be the big bad wolf and little brother will be a little pig for Halloween. He's decided he will ask for treats by saying "I'll huff and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house down." He thought about that and worried about some of the bad stuff that happened to the big bad wolf.
Your hiking trip in the Appalachians would be beautiful. I took several gorgeous drives there in 1992. Gorgeous would be an understatement.
In Christ,
Tom

Yeah, it's Monday morning. Happy Monday.
Good Morning Symphony,
Drink a cup of coffee, eat two twinkies, and yodel.
Remember to always grin. It will make folks wonder what you've been up to.
Have a great week.
In Christ,
Tom

HAHAHAHA! You guys are great.
Sounds like you've got the Oklahoma cuties out there.
I'm completely enamored with my nephew. He tried on my shoes the other day and it was so impossibly cute I took a picture. (Okay, several!) And they came out adorable. He's still at the age where, when he's at his most rebellious, it's hard to fault him for it. (Of course we do, but it is hard!
)
I mean, how do you fault a chubby-cheeked two year old with a Krispy Kreme hat, wearing your watch and clomping your shoes around the living room? I just don't know!
Symphony, I drank so much coffee I had to go on heart medicine for three weeks. I kid you not. So now I drink decaf and try to convionce myself I'm awake.

My weekend was boring, compared to camping, grand kids, etc. I did my laundry; made recovery disks for my new computer; (been putting that off); And unclogged a toilet.
But I did enjoy myself very much at this forum.
God bless. Roy.

Oklahoma Howdy to Whitehorse,
ROFL - Toddlers are good medicine - Gifts of laughter, love, and wonder from Almighty God. The description of your nephew above is priceless. He's doing his job as a toddler. If he didn't do things like this, it would be time to take him to the doctor. Precious little events like this tend to make one forget about the world's trouble and concentrate on the riches God has given us.
In Christ,
Tom

Oklahoma Howdy to Royo,
I can talk to my kids about loaning you my grandkids for an afternoon. Let's see - you would need eye and ear protection and diaper-changing apparel for a start.
Just kidding - I wouldn't trade for a second of time that I get to spend with them.
In Christ,
Tom

Quote from Tom.

Thanks for the offer. HeHe. But I do get lots of this also. At least when I want it. My niece Tina herself has 8 kids. And there are others also. I love them all; especially since they belong to someone else, and I can just go be a big kid with them, and then go home.
I committed my life to live for Him, instead of marry, and He has honred this. And He blessed me with great family and friends. And they all have great and fun kids. I may be 50, but I am still just a big kid, and they love me coming over as much as I enjoy them. To them it's "cool", cause not too many adults act like one of them.
Bless you all. Roy.
