False Christs, False Prophets, False Teachers

Mat 24:24  For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.


2Pe 2:1  But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.


With the things that we see going on in the world today I seriously believe that if we are not already in the end of this period of grace that we are indeed approaching it quite rapidly. We are told in the Bible that we will see many false prophets and teachers. We are also told that  "if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." The greatest deceiver of all, Satan, will be coming to attempt to deceive us all. We must arm ourselves against these deceptions. We do this by putting "on the whole armour of God.

How can we tell a false prophet/teacher:

They do things to attract attention to themselves instead of Jesus Christ:

They elevate themselves in words:
     take on names of previous prophets Mat 7:15
     say things such as "I prophesy that ... " Joh 5:30
     their prophesies most frequently never come into being Mat 7:16
     do and say various other things that self elevate themselves above others, the attitude
             that God spoke to me but He will never speak to you Phi 2:21
     their teachings are in direct conflict with the teachings of the Bible. I am not speaking
            of minor things that contain subjects that are in disagreement between Christians
            ( such as when the rapture will take place) but rather such that are quite plain
            ( example 2 Tim 2: 18 ) ...... or another Jesus or another Gospel. 2Co 11:4


Study the Bible and use its teachings in comparison to those of the teachings/prophesies  2Ti 2:15

AMEN brother we have seen this on the forum here, (false prophets and teachers) as well.
