THE JESUS PAPERS

Good Day Brothers and Sisters,

Last evening as I was dozing off, I heard the prelim to a program that was airing later that night.  One of the feature stories was about a book called "The Jesus Papers".  Today I googled it to find out what it was ~ I'm outraged!  First we had "The Da Vinci Code" claiming that Jesus and Mary Magdelane married and had children.  Now we have "The Jesus Papers" claiming that Jesus survived the crucifixion and was never "divine". . . that the divinity is a myth created by Constantine.

I don't know any more about the book.  Has anyone else heard of it?  What are these people going to say to God when faced with their accountability on earth?  My, my, my ....

Hi sister, yes, it is complete blasphemy done by someone that either has not read or does not understand the Bible. This is a variation of an old false teaching that is rising back up again. islamics believe that Jesus did not die on the cross and will return in the end times, live here on earth for 40 years then die and be buried. I really do believe that we are seeing the falling away spoken of in the Bible and as such we will be seeing more and more of this type of garbage that will lead many people away from Jesus Christ. Not only is it outrageous but it is quite saddening to think of all the lost souls that will be mislead by this garbage and have to suffer forever for it.

It is important that we work our hardest to get the truth out ......

Jesus Christ is very God. There is but one way for man to avoid the pain and suffering of eternal damnation ....  Jesus Christ is the truth, the way and the life!

I haven't heard anything about that, but I do know that this weekend sometime on the Discovery Channel they had a program about (now get this) The Gospel of Judas... do you believe that??   I didn't watch the program because I was at the Christian Festival, but when they were announcing it they said "now everything we have heard about the Bible and Jesus may change" See satan is getting very desperate now he know he is doomed and he knows it will be very soon, so he wants to take as many souls with him as he can. I pray for each and every unbeliever's eyes to be opened that they may be able to escape from the snares of the devil. All this garbage is comming straight from satan himself.
As far as I am concerned EVERYTHING I need to know is in God's Word. And if I have any questions, I go to my prayer closet and ask Him.

Sister, look at the verses of  Matthew 24:3, 5, 11 3 While He was seated on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately and said, Tell us, when will this take place, and what will be the sign of Your coming and of the end (the completion, the consummation) of the age? 5 For many will come in (on the strength of) My name [appropriating the name which belongs to Me], saying, I am the Christ (the Messiah), and they will lead many astray. 11 And many false prophets will rise up and deceive and lead many into error.

Sister Terri, these people will learn of Gods Wraith, when the time of Tribulation is upon them.

I don't know if this is the right room to start a topic about this but I really wanted it to get out of my mind..

It really bothers me that some guy had the nerve to write that Jesus didn't die and He married Magdalene.... Also this book holy grail, da vinci code, Jesus papers.... They bother me alot....

I can't help thinking that readers of these books will actually believe the words of those men who wrote this books not the word of God Himself....

They even say that Jesus has a bloodline of some sort...

Is this part of the prophecy that many people will lose faith or something like that???

You are right in being bothered about it. Any time that such false lies are spread about our Lord and Saviour it should bother us. We are told that many will be deceieved and that is exactly what is happening. Yes the word of God is the only truth that we should listen to.

It appears there are new false cults and false religions popping up on every corner. The money and the resources of the devil appear to grow by the hour, and much worse is yet to come. (IF) the end of this age is approaching, we know that the devil will take over and people will be hit with lies from every angle. Deception is a very powerful tool that the devil will use.

Regardless, this is a time to become strong in the LORD and the power of HIS MIGHT. Bible Study and prayer are two of the best things that we can encourage for our friends, our family members, and ourselves.

People are so easily deceived in this day an age, I think, because they want to be. Brother, you just added some more to my study list. YES, there is urgency to share the Good News. I have wondered about the effects of all the horrible and evil things happening right now throughout the world. Will the lost be more or less receptive to the Gospel of God's Grace? I don't think that any of us know that answer, so all we can do is pray and ask God to strengthen and guide us into His Will. There is much work to do and possibly little time left to do it in. I am hoping that more and more Christians will say, "Here am I LORD, send me."

Brother, I love the promise of GOD that HIS WORD will never return void. The things of the LORD are never wasted, and I give thanks for that.

On one side of the coin, I think of the Internet as a horrible and evil place where the devil is devouring hosts.

On the other side of the coin, I think of the many thousands of Christian web sites that are spreading the GOSPEL and the things of the LORD. It makes me happy to know that God uses it and nothing is ever wasted. Those Christian web sites are really like a beacon of light in a massive sea of darkness. I give thanks for the many Christians who have decided to add another beacon because God will use them.

YES, I love knowing that GOD uses us to plant seeds, and I trust GOD that many of those seeds will sprout.

Brother Tom I agree with you all we could do is pray and ask God to strengthen and guide us and we should also be busy going about our Father's business just as Jesus did. As for the lost being more receptive or not none of us know, however the Bibel does tell us;

Re 7:9 After these things I looked, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of all nations and kindreds and people and tongues, stood before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palms in their hands.
Re 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying to me, Who are these who are arrayed in white robes, and from where do they come?

Re 7:14 And I said to him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are the ones who came out of great tribulation and have washed their robes, and have whitened them in the blood of the Lamb.

We know that there will be saints that will survive the tribulation, I just feel so sad for them because they don't have to go through the tribulation if they would accpet the Lord now.
That is why we need to be praying for the lost that their eyes shall be opened that they may see and that their ears may be opened that they may hear, that they may come to their senses and escape from the claws of the enemy and run to the Rock of salvation.

Brothers, I take comfort in knowing that there are so many Christian websites and we might have to wait untill we are home to find out how many seeds were planted and how many actually accepted Jesus as their Savior before the Rapture. One thing that comforts me is knowing that God is the one Who gave man the knowledge and the inspiration to have the internet something that was totally unimaginable 30 years ago. God will and is using that knowledge He gave men for His Kingdom it is up to us to make sure that we have the Christian web sites available for every man, woman and child. The enemy will not be able to use the knowledge of technology that God has given man against God Himself. I think that God has provided and will continue to provide for His people every possible means of communication to all mankind. 

 Mt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

That is what we are doing today. We are using every tool that we have available to preach the good news of the gospel. And that is the responsibility of every born again believer. The minute we are born-again we become preachers of the good news. The enemy may try and try to stop us all he wants to, but Jesus was already crucified, buried, raised from the dead, and has ascended into the heavens. The war has already been won, nothing the enemy does will stop us, we have the victory God is on our side. This is a whole new ballgame. So we will continue to use our time wisely and preach the word by all possible means.

Mt 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
