Hello Sister Maria,

WOW! - You ask hard questions!  Cheesy  (Small Print:  Especially when you are asking grandpas).

I have posted something on that, but I think that it was in a limited category (i.e. Salvation). There would be many promises throughout the Bible in a variety of categories. I don't know if anyone has tried the new search engine on the new forum software, but I guess that now would be a good time to try it. What I don't know is whether or not older messages are indexed for search or not.

Let's try it. I'll get back with you in a little bit.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Proverbs 24:19-20 NASB  Do not fret because of evildoers Or be envious of the wicked;  For there will be no future for the evil man; The lamp of the wicked will be put out.

Thanks Brother BEP's, I had a book about the promises, but my daughter liked it so I gave it to her. I asked her, but she can't find the book now.  Undecided

Hello Sister Maria,

I'm really glad that you asked this question.

The new search engine is GREAT!! Just type in "promises" in the search box near the top of the page - right over the "Home" button. You don't even need to try the advanced search. I got 4 solid pages of messages with sample text for each of them. I didn't see anything that looked like a Summary of all the Promises of God, but you might get close by copying portions of what you need from the posts that look the best.

The new search engine is 10 times better than the old one, and all of the messages on the forum are indexed. IT'S GREAT!!! AND EASY!!!

I'll also look on my hard drive for something regarding Promises of God, but I'm almost sure that the ones I posted about related to Salvation.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Psalms 18:2 NASB  The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Here's another hard question.....well........maybe for some folks. I know the answer to this one ... What is the shortest verse in the Bible?
Anyone care to try and answer???

Not sure how accurate this is, but web search turns this up....

Quote
a) How Many Promises in the Bible?

The Holy Scriptures contains a grand total of 8,810 promises.

There are 7,487 promises from God to man (about 85 percent of all the Bible’s promises).

Your welcome.   Like I say, not sure how accurate that is, or who counted them all.....lol   Regardless, it would seem our God is a God of many promises, and He made the majority of them to His children.  What an AWESOME GOD we serve!

Here's a Biblical "trivia" question: Who was the greatest man born of a woman?
