Was interesting........though they refered to "later traslations"  

Early translations still reflect 666. (at least that was how I understood it)

Maybe they threw that translation out cause the scribe writing it messed it up....

First of all, I don't trust anything Biblical which the N.G. reports. (read the "National Geographic Slams Christians" on this forum) Secondly, the Gnostic books are totally unreliable and not credable which is why they didn't make the cut.

I saw this article too JN.  Jesus said that the times would be confusing.   But Gods word carefully explains these things, and how it would be used.....a required mark for buying and selling and the number is the number of man.


I mean, how many non believers have you spoke to who have never heard of 666?  The devil will certainly have to confuse this in order to make it work.

Amen brother ....we also have to understand it wont be just a mark... but the worship of the beast and his image as well. The false prophet is the one who makes this work... by calling fire down from heaven in the sight of men, to deceive them.

Miracles are the bomb here for unbelievers...

I also read some place that one can make 666 out of Micky Mouse.

Although NG is just now reporting this, it is actually old news. It was first published five years ago.
