hi this is my first time on this but i just had to comment on your stuff tibby. first i must introduce myself. i am the wife of one of the men that went to jail. i'm not even sure i should be writing here for safety reasons but i really think i should...
tibby you are making assumtions. you assumed that they were badgering people and shoving things in their faces. i can tell you they were not.  they answered questions and gave things that were requested. yes, i understand  your feelings about going to their place of worship, that was not their intention but just where they ended up. They were just sitting outside, not in the entrance, and people came up to them and began asking questions. not once were they asked to leave. you talk of private ryan, i'm not sure for what reason exactly, but i would gladly die for the gospel. If my death would cause more to come to Christ, so be it, I know where I am going, and I also know where those that do not believe are going. Do you believe in hell? Do you believe in it enough to share with people even if it  gives you a bad rap.  in america being labeled intolerant and such is the Devil's scheme to keep people's mouth's shut and its working. We do have a daughter and through out the whole time I spoke of her daddy as being an amazing man for Jesus. What the children believe is greatly what those around them lead them to believe. Yes, this has been hard, but the opportunities to share of my amazing  saviour has been immense. my husband got the opportunity to share the gospel with many many high ranking officials in the government. Those men were often moved to tears. Those in the jail, got to hear of Jesus and some believed.
This was not a waste. The situation in this country is grave.  We want people to at least be making a choice. We truly believe in what is written in the Word of God and for that we are driven. Suffering or not, i count it a priviledge. If you do write me back i'm not sure that I"ll be able to respond very quickly as life is still quite unsettled here. Bless you in your walk to becoming more like Jesus. K

Tibby,

Brother, it appears to be completely legitimate (i.e. Malaysia).

Love In Christ,
Tom

Ok, just checking before I poured sometime into this:

Good for you, marrying such a man. That is just where they ended up? I’d love to hear a rapist use that excuse. “I didn’t do anything wrong, I didn’t want to end up doing that, we where just cuddling, and that is where we ended up!” Or a murderer “He just got into a fight, I didn’t intend to kill him, it just happened!” Planned or not, they did they did, knowing full well what the consequences are.

Most everyone here would be willing to die for the Gospel, and that is admirable. However, I’m not going to do something I know I WILL get caught for, and maybe killed for, when my service to the kingdom can be used in a safer setting just as productively!

Yes, my own reputation is no consequence, however, the loss of the life of a soldier of chrism, working in a place where few Christians go to start with, is a waste of life. I am pro-life, which means I believe ALL life is precious. Everything from a ball of cells in your belly to a fully grown missionary, and when there is no need for either to die, I don't believe we should kill them, or put them in a place where they can and most likely WOULD be killed. They can do much greater thing on Earth while they are still on Earth!

It is THIS kind of attitude Christians have that make people not want to hear about Christ! What is so bad about tolerance? Christians are always bashing tolerance, putting it along the same lines as Political Correctness. It isn’t. Tolerance is about respecting the choice people have made, even if you don’t agree with it. People have the right to choose, that is a Bible principle! It isn’t our right to force them to change, we should show Tolerance toward them. Jesus show tolerance. He was so fun of Tolerance for others, we ate with sinners all the time, in their own home! What is so bad about Tolerance?

So, he got his foot in the door with a Muslim Government. I’m rather impressed. But this isn’t the issue. In fact, in my eyes, this makes has actions at the Mosque all that more fool-hardy! He has a foot in the door, he could change the Government, but then he does things like this that can get him killed, according to some of these death-obsessed Evangelical Martyrdom groups. Kinda hard to speak to the Leaders of the country when you’re in a pine box 6 feet under (If they even allow for a proper burial, that is). He should stick with the parts of his Ministry that take him places… other then prison.

This was not a waste.

So he turned the situation around, good for him, doesn't make his actions excusable, though.

I do not disagree with any of that. In fact, I strongly agree. However, I still believe that your husban and his friend needlessly risked their lives, going to a part of town they should not have, and getting arrested. Tell him to be more carefull!
