I just bought a NEC DVD/RW Burner for only $75.00, and it's New to!

I don't have the Software though for the Burner at all, nothing came with it, just the burner itself!

I own a Dell 1.6Ghz 200GB HD, 1GB RAM, One CD/RW and one DVD/RW, I have a 17" moniter and Optical Mouse. Oh I also have Bose Speakers and Altec Lasning. My computer and rock the apartment, LOL.

Okay, Help, how do I get my DVD/RW to play DVDs on my computer?!  I went too http://www.nec.com/ to look for downloads.

The DVD/RW is ~> DVD+/-REW NEC ND-2510A

What do I do to get my computer play the DVDs? I cannot afford fancy software from Mircosoft. I guess I could go tomorrow to ~> http://www.zdnet.com/ and look there for software.

Please let me know what I can do?   Wink

Love Always,

You need a software prouct.... those burners/dvds at the NEC site come bundled with roxio products, but I'm pretty sure nero (AheadNero) will do the same thing. Don't know what the dvd is on our laptop, but it uses Nero.

Rule of thumb.  All new hardware:  NEEDS SOFTWARE  lol  i learned that one the hard way.   It needs a driver to tell it what to do.

Also, decoder is needed for the dvd thingy

next time,   for any hardware you get, make sure the software is included, this save on headaches for you.  =)

Thank you Both...

I have Ahead Nero on my Computer already. I loaded it last year in 2003. I had Roxio on my computer and when I went to unistall it through the Control Panel, it messed up a partition in my 40GB hard-drive at the time.  I had to call Dell as I could not get into any programs, not even DOS or Windows.  I had to reload my entire hard-drive and re formant it. I stay away from Roxio with a passion, I don't like it at all.  When I found Nero, what a Blessing!!  Nero is far better than Roxio.

I am Nero's Website now, and I will try to find the plug in's there.  I have Nero 2003 on my computer right now.

Here I go trying again, LOL.... Cheesy

Use Nero 6 for creating your own compilations for burning things.

However... I have had a few problems with my Pioneer 107D when I first bought it. Whenever my dvd drive burnt a dvd using nero only my burner was able to read the dvds. All other dvd drives picked up CRC errors :-/
