Thankie Tom Grin

I have Live 365 somewhere on my computer, lol.  Now all I have to do is find it, sheez...

Love,

MsGuidedAngel

MsGuidedAngel,

Sister, if you enjoy old fashioned Gospel music, try "All Quartets". If I remember correctly, you have a fast connection, so you will have a huge choice of stations. I have the old and slow dial-up, but I still get a pretty good selection. I really enjoy leaning back and enjoying beautiful Gospel music several times per week.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Oooo Yeah I love Old Time Gospel Music!!  uh huh, I am on DSL still, it's much better than dial-up!!!!!!

Bro Tom

Thanks for the link to the christian radio online. I wil definetly check this out in the morning... It's funny how, when i became born again, i really was not that fond of the old sort of Gospel music and hymns. Was into the newer, more modern stuff. But now i find the words to the older stuff are so much more meaningful. Thats not to say i don't like the newer stuff anymore. Much of it is so so good... Before i became a child of God and even after conversion, i really could not stand Amazing Grace. But now you've guessed it. It's my fav hymn. Just awesome words...Anyway, i have wandered a bit here  Wink

If anyone is intrested in listerning to a couple of online radio stations here in the UK, click the following links and hope they bless you.

Hello Joey,

Brother, I'm glad that you are enjoying the music. Thanks for the links.

I'm an older person, so my tastes in music are obviously old fashioned. I would say that I really enjoy listening to music with a Biblical message, a pretty melody, and the harmony of beautiful voices and instruments. That's probably why my favorites are the quartets and various family groups.

Bill Gaither specials on television always have a variety of beautiful music with a stage full of sweet Christians who sing and play for the Lord. Many of the artists are over 60 years old, but they still have a beautiful testimony with their music.

Brother, I do listen to contemporary Christian music from time to time. I've also tried to listen to Christian rock, but I'll have to confess that I'm probably not wired right to become a fan.   Cheesy   Some of the hard stuff blows my old circuits.   Grin   Please - I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the hard 220 stuff - I'm just wired for 110.   Grin

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello

"Some of the hard stuff blows my old circuits. " Funny!!
Are you refering to, what I would call, "Christain Acid Rock"?
This type of music not only blows my circuits but it also
fries them too. The bible says to "make a joyful NOISE unto
the lord". (And thank God that He said that too, because I
can't sing!) I thought what blackeyedpeas posted above
was humorous!

Here are a couple I listen to,

Seven,

Brother Jim, I really don't know what some of the music terms mean these days.   Cheesy  They might call it Christian Acid Rock. I'm stuck in the 50s and 60s. Most of the Christian Music I listen to would probably fall into these categories: old fashioned quartet, traditional, country, bluegrass, and Southern Gospel. Many people ask what Southern Gospel is. That's the really old style music that field hands sang and played either while they worked or at the end of a hard day in the field. My dad's family were sharecroppers, and they all sang and played numerous instruments. There are probably thousands of Southern Gospel songs that most people have never heard. There are others that became so popular that almost everyone has heard them. Many of the verses to the most popular songs were made up while they worked. So, the music may have been published with standard verses, but hundreds of additional verses were never published.

Hello blackeyepeas,

LOL.. What I mean by "Christain Acid Rock" would probably
be best described by the mid-60's and 70's era. Lot of the
hard-rock-bands during this era was pretty heavy,
e.g. "AC/DC". A small number of Christain band cater in this
type of music. Trust me, its very far from the old fashioned
quartet, traditional, country, bluegrass groups of the 1950's
and 1960's. I can't say that I'm fond of the types of band
music that you mentioned, but its much better than the
heavy christain metal bands these days!

Oklahoma Howdy to Seven,

Brother Jim, I would simply have to be honest and say that I don't know what Christian acid rock is.  Grin  The Beatles were about as wild as I got, and I seriously doubt they fit in that category. I guess that I could easily be called a "square" and definitely not "hip".   Grin  See, I'm using old terms, and I really don't know what the young people call it these days.   Grin  Whatever they call it, that's me.
