I absolutely love Christian music, especially from the 70's & 80's. Just wondered if anyone else likes it. Unfortunately, most of my friends do not who any of them are. When I say Keith Green or Leon Patillo they are like WUH?!!
I am a BIG fan of James Ward (If anyone remembers him), Phil Driscoll, Keith Green (Of course), Petra, LOVE Michael Card & Michael English. Anyone remember Mylon Lafevere? & Isaac Airfreight? Wish I could find their music more online...Hard to come by!! Smiley Smiley

I met John Micheal Talbet, back in the 70's we both had hair down to our belts, he gave a good concert for a few of us.
I also like his brother Terry.

I'm really sort of green to the whole Christian rock scene. I just bought Jekyll and Hyde from Petra and about fell out of my chair when I heard it. They have one Christian station here that really only plays Contemporary. I don't mind it, but it limits everything. Before the LORD found me, I was into Iron Maiden, Judas Priest that sort of thing, so I'm used to having to feel my way through music to find something I like. I feel I've had the calling to form a Christian band, so I've been trying to find something to compare to the style I'd like to do. I like Third Day and Steven Curtis Chapman, but I like the harder stuff.

I love Petra, but the older stuff (It Is Finished). thats what i listened to as a kid. my hub likes the newer stuff, because he is a newer fan. I was just thinking last saturday that i wished i could find some Keith Green or 2nd Chapter of Acts (Hear The Bells Ringing...)on tape or CD. I would also love to have some Michael Card. I really miss the old school stuff, tho i bet Petra wouldn't be too hard to get ahold of. My hub also likes the Band that the old lead singer of Kansas formed, can't remember the group name.

Hope and Faith - The band that Kerry Livgren, the guitar player and writer of the majority of Kansas songs, formed along with the Dave Hope who was the bass player for Kansas, is called "AD". They are one my favorites too, along with Petra, REZ, Deagarmo & Key, and others mentioned here.

This Mother's Day evening Greg X. Volz, the former lead singer for Petra, will be at our Church here in Louisville Ky. We are very excited!

Glad you brought up Kerry Livgren. His album seeds of change which is a Christian record features among others Black Sabbath lead singer, Ronnie James Dio, in the songs live for the king and the mask of the great deceiver.

That album rocked. Can't find it on vynl anymore though.

PETRA RULES! Yay, You know Petra? Cool!

The older stuff is not too much of my style. I like from '90 up. Mostly just the ones with John Schlitt.

Mylon Lafevere? Yewah. I don't Like him... I have two songs on a music Video with him.

"I'm a freeeee man..."

Bride and Gaurdian has 80's stuff. Holy Soldier started in 1990 yet plays 80's stuff. My favorite song By HOLY SOLDIER song is "See No Evil." ANTI-ABORTION.

I really like most genres of Christian music from the really old hymns to today's music. I pretty much like any Christian music that isn't Amy Grant. She's too "ordinary" for my taste.
