     What are your favorite Books of the Bible, chapters and verses of the Bible?

     One of my top ten favorite verses:

1 Thessalonians 4:16 "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
   17: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
   18: Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

  Romans Chapter 8 is a favorite chapter.

  Daniel, Revelation, John are a few of my favorite Books.

    What are your favorites?

Oklahoma Howdy to Paul2,

The writings of Paul are my favorite portions of the Bible because Paul reveals a mystery not known by men of other ages, The Gospel of the Grace of God. I would have to say that Ephesians and Romans are my favorite portions written by Paul because they detail the GOOD NEWS and explain why it is GOOD NEWS.

I have too many favorite Scriptures to list, so I'll simply mention several:

Titus 2:13  Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Romans 1:17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans  11:33  O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

Ephesians 6:10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Philippians 4:19  But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

1 Corinthians 2:9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

------

Thanks brother, this was a great idea.

In Christ,
Tom

Oklahoma Howdy to Paul2,

Titus 2:13  Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Thanks brother, this was a great idea.

In Christ,
Tom

     I love this verse also Tom:

Titus 2:13  Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

     I see the Rapture as the blessed hope, and also Jesus is called Great God. A great verse containing both the immenant possibility of the Rapture and the Deity of Jesus. Paul is also my favorite, John a very close second. It was Paul's writings that motivated me into action, woe to me if I don't preach the Gospel, I loved that line. I love a good mystery and the mystery of God is the best mystery of all time, and its true.

    Paul writings gave me the courage to take a stand, state my case, and defend my position with the Word. John gave me details, which I have always treasured, but Paul gave me my purpose or mission or what ever you may call it that I'm doing. His letters to Timothy enpowered me to stop seeking approval of men and encouraged me to do what the Holy Spirit was guiding me to do. I love the Word! I love the mysteries and I love sharing the truth I have found, and pray more truth will be revealed. Its awesome how you can read something 100 times and the 101st time something is revealed to your mind you missed 100 times before. It just gets deeper and deeper.

    I've never been one to "swim in the shallow end of the pool" if you know what I mean. I perfer the "deep end". Cool

List of my favorite books, I have read each of them hundreds of times

Romans
1 and 2 Corinthians
Galatians
Ephesians
Philippians
Colossians
1 and 2 Thessalonians
1 and 2 Timothy
Titus
Philemon
***************************

Some of my Favorite verses:

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES; it is the gift of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast" (Eph. 2:8, 9).

"Now to him that worketh is the reward NOT RECKONED OF GRACE, but of debt" (Rom. 4:4).

"And if by grace, then is it NO MORE OF WORKS; otherwise grace is NO MORE GRACE" (Rom. 11:6).

GRACE AND WORKS CANNOT MIX FOR SALVATION. Note also: Rom. 3:24; II Tim. 1:9; Titus 3:5.

I really enjoy the book of Romans, its fresh every time I read it (as is most of the Bible). Although it may not be my favorite part, I especially like the first chapter. There is a wonderful introduction and explanation there, that sums up Scripture!
