It has long been a mainstay of DF thought that the 'unconditional' nature of Abe's covenant with God regarding the Land is the primary reason to extend land
 claims to modern Israel.

With that in mind:

Why is Esau excluded?

Take care

Isaac, is the father of the twins, so Abraham was the granddad of Esau, and Jacob.

.........is it somthing to do with Esau selling his birthright over a bowl of soup? Twins, Esau was born first, should have had the birthright. But, then you get into the fact that Jacob  unhandly recieved the blessing dressing like Esau too. SIGH..........this will be interesting. But while in the womb they had this little wrestling match, Jacob is holding onto the heel of Esau. So thier beginning was already a fight.

Heb 12:15.......Looking carefully lest anyone fall bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled. 16) Lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. 17) For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance through he sought it dilgently with tears.

Gen 25:29-34, and 27:1-19
Esau desired God's blessing but he did not want God. He regretted what he had done, but he did not repent. Esau knowinly sinned against God, he wasn't given a second change because he refused the birthright over a physical need.  As my foot note explains. He is the example of the because of the exposure to the truth, and their advanced state of hardness.....Esau was an example of the profane erson.

Had the covenant been unconditional they would not have ever needed to get the land back.
