Politically, morally, spiritually, the night is dark, the Storm is raging and souls are perishing, but "God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts" (II Cor. 4:6). "...we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep as do others" (I Thes. 5:5,6).

"We need reminding much more than
we need instructing."
Ask the Lord to remind you
today of something you need to
remember to do to
strengthen your spiritual life.-- George MacDonald

When I call them radically churched, I’m not knocking the church. The church is God’s idea and is God’s way of reaching the world. But what we have made of the church and what we read in the New Testament are often two different realities. What I’m saying is that there is a difference between the radically churched and the radically changed- the changed meet Jesus and never recover! ~Dr. Alvin Reid [/size]

The modern American seldom pauses to give thanks for the simple blessings of life. One reason is that we are used to having so much. We simply assume that we will have all the good things of life. Another reason is that it hurts our pride to be grateful. We do not want to admit that God is the Provider of all good things. We are simply His stewards.
Being thankful requires humility and faith in God. When we have these, we can be grateful. ~Richard B. Douglass
