Hello everyone.

I have been a Christian for a number of years, and in all my studying and reading I never caught the signiicance of Gen 2:2

And while critically examining the portion of the verse quoted above I realized I had never thought about how soon the fall of Adam and Eve occured in the garden.

Gen 1:31 makes it clear the God created man on the sixth day and upon giving all to man (vs 28-29), this finished His creative work.

So, that at the end of the sixth day  "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good."  vs 1:31

My conclusion is that the fall occured the very night of the seventh day.

It was then God began the work of reconciling man unto himself.

Is this the work reffered to in Gen 2:2?

Does Anyone have any scripture which can shed light on this matter?

Thank You

I don't see a direct connection between the seventh day and Eve's trespass. It could have been, though.
Genesis 2:2-3 says "...on the sixth day Elohim finished His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day...and hallowed it, because He rested..."

I'm not sure what God's Sabbath implied; the word used here for rest means to repose, to desist, to put away or put down, to celebrate, to cease, or to be still.

When Adam and Eve sinned, they made themselves garments, and 'heard the voice of God walking in the garden toward the cool of the day (evening)'...

It may not have been that seventh day, since God was walking rather than reposing; but I suppose its just as likely that He was enjoying His rest by taking a walk in the garden?

HI ARPELL, WHAT YOU ARE REFERRING TO IS ONE OF THE 6 DISPENSATIONS. IT IS THE FIRST DISPENSATION, THE BIBLE DOESN'T SAY THE LENGTH OF THIS DISPENSATION. IT STARTS FROM ADAM TO THE FALL OF MAN. IT IS THE SHORTEST DISPENSATION . SO WE DON'T KNOW HOW SOON AFTER HIS CREATION, ADAM SINNED. BUT WE CAN BE SURE THAT IF GOD THOUGHT WE NEEDED TO KNOW, HE WOULD HAVE TOLD US.

Hello airIam2worship,

I was saved many years ago in a dispensational teaching chuch, an as time goes one I have become dislousioned with the teach, especially it raises more questions rather them answers them/

Quote
WE CAN BE SURE THAT IF GOD THOUGHT WE NEEDED TO KNOW, HE WOULD HAVE TOLD US.

Sometimes because of doctrines which have been formulated by church councils, and positions articulated in articles of faith, what has been written, for our own edifying, becomes clouded or obscured so that the answer to questions we may have, cannot be contemplated, in the light of the pure inerrant word.

For instance Jesus when answering the Pharisees in Mk 10:5-9, made it clear, in the lite of;

"...from the begining of the creation God made them male and female" vs 6

that;

no man could undue what God had joined together; yet we know of many churches that undue what God has joined together, for reasons other than "fornication" (Mt 5:32)

The word "beginning" is defined as;  start/first part = to start with.

In answering the Jews who believed on Him, Jesus said;

Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.                          Jhn 8:43-44

Using this scripture above, one would ask, when did the devil commit murder?   When did he lie?

Jesus says he not only fathered lies, but, from the beginning was a murder.

We know Satan, (the devil that old serpent) was in the garden in his unfallen state, observing Gods creative handywork together with the sons of God, no doubt he was present when God created man in His own image and put him in the Garden to keep and dress it.

After having seduced Eve, she lied the same lie and caused Adam to sin willfully.

They both were murdered that day.

What is the first dispensation the start or the begining, of?

God Bless,

Very interesting. I have never looked at that in that respect.
