A Water Bearer in China had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which he carried across his neck.  One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots of water to his house.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, for which it was made.

But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do.

After 2 years of what perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. " I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes to leak out all the way back to your house."

The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?

That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.

You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

To all of my crackpot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers.

A lovely story.  But sadly in this day and age, most people don't look for the good in people. They tend to discourage and lead too many folk to despair and even to suicide.

Oklahoma Howdy to Tamara,

Yes, the story was beautiful. Sadly, your commentary is true far too often. We are all "cracked pots" in one way or another, but God can still use us. It sounds as if you might have something troubling you. If so, please share it with us. We can talk together and pray together.

In Christ,
Tom

Thankyou Blackeyed,
I was chased off another website because I believe in the letters of Paul.  Especially about women.  I was much loved there, and still receive emails from the folk at that site.
I was abused, accused and ridiculed on the boards.  And, it was permitted.  The women tracked my every posting. And made some terrible remarks which had to be deleted.
It made me very ill.
I bought a computor in order to join a Christian Site where I could have some fellowship as I have none where I live.
I found it.  But, popularity bred contempt.  And, the contempt came out in a thread about women preachers.
I said I preferred a man to preach, and that I believed the letters of Paul.  That a man is head of the house.  They said Paul was a pharisee at heart hence his dislike of women.
I stated again I believed and loved Paul's letters.
And, I still stand by those words.
Paul explained many things to us. And, he was the Apostle to the gentiles.
I cannot state on the board all those womern did to me.  But, it is enough to say I am frightened of private mail at present.
And, to make a posting too often as I am afraid of offending due to my belief that Paul's letters are as much the Inpired Word Of God as any other part of the Bible.  And, I will not move from that belief.

In love...Tamara.

Oklahoma Howdy to Tamara,

When you speak of Paul's letters, you are talking about the core of the Gospel of the Grace of God. Paul's letters are most definitely the inspired Word of God. I don't know how any Christian would dislike the writing of Paul, as he revealed a mystery not known to men of other ages, the GOOD NEWS, the Gospel of the Grace of God. This is one of the most precious and joyous portions of the Holy Bible for God's children.

Post away. I look forward to fellowship in God's Word.

In Christ,
Tom
