Please pray for my daughter Amanda who is claiming that she is athiest! I am a young christian of four years. (her mom).
I pray for her, I also have friends who are praying for her and thought that I would try here as well. PLEASE! I know the power of prayer works miracles! I have seen it happen many times. She refuses to talk about anything when it refers to the Bible, prayer, or church. All I can do is pray for her since I can't force her to believe. I know it must come from her heart. Thank you so much in advance... God Bless

How old is she? A lot of kids go through stages like this. They say they are Atheist, Communist, Socialist, Buddhist, anything that upsets the majority of the people in the area. It is more an attention thing then an honest belief thing. The most you can do is love her, pray for her, and most of all, don’t push her into anything. She wants you to complain and throw fits, so she can talk about her "psycho Christian mom" to her friends. I will be praying for you.

If would, however, suggest reading up on pro-Christian philosophers and apologists, so when she does try to start a fight, giving point against the existance of a God, you can be ready to answer, with ease, any point she tries to bring up.

Thanks Tibby. My daughter is twenty and I don't let her "push my buttons" and get into arguing. I try very hard not to let that happen. Thanks also for the advice about reading. God Bless

I am praying that our Heavenly Father will reveal Himself to your daughter in a miraculous way.

What is the problem feather? Does she know that there is non-biblical historical documentation that describes the real life and events of Jesus? Sometimes, a person will tend to take a closer look at the Bible if they know there is non-biblical documentation, which proves without a doubt that Jesus walked the earth, and did all the things recorded in the Bible.

Share with your daughter that the Bible has never - not one single time, been discredited or proven to be wrong in any description of events or people written in it's pages. Archaeologists have used the Bible to find ancient cities, and corroborate biblical figures such as King David, Lazarus, and many others.

If she becomes interested, you can direct her to www.fifthday.2ya.com where she will find loads of factual evidence which will lead any open minded, intelligent person to the conclusion that the Holy Bible is the most accurate, and reliable book ever written - that Jesus is for real.

May God bless you and lead your daughter to eternal salvation through Jesus Christ my sister.

p.s. I'm not shamlessly promosting my web site, I genuinly believe there is good resources there which can help you and your daughter. If your daughter will not visit the site, then I suggest you visit it. You'll find loads of facts to speak to her about, concerning Jesus, and the Holy Bible.

Welcome to the forum my sister.

Thank you Bronzesnake for you message, and for this website. I am going to go onto it myself first, then when my daughter and I get together, I will know what I'm talking about. When she was younger, she went to church (I didn't) with a friend of hers. When I spoke to her about it, she told me that she only went because they had a pool table in the basement and she wanted to play that. Not go to the services. I was a little surprised at that of course but I am assuming that she must have heard some of what was being taught right? she was after all inside God's House and even though not in the same area, some of what was said must have gone down to where she was. Thanks again Bronzesnake, and for the welcome.

You are most welcome my sister. God makes every attempt to reach all of us throughout our lives. Most times he uses other people to talk about God. Every time we get into a discussion about Jesus/God with a Christian, God is actually feeding us, and it does stay with us, even if it's at the back of our minds. My brother didn't believe. He contracted terminal cancer and was not supposed to live more than a couple of months. I worked at him very diligently, and there were times when he told me to "shut up already!!" God prolonged his life for three years, so he could have every chance to be saved. I hit him with creation vs evolution - I threw the reliability of the Bible at him - I hammered him with all the non-biblical historical documentation, and I belted away at the scientific facts in the Bible.

Finally, after three years of battle my brother accepted Jesus on New Years Eve 2003. One month later he dropped dead on his kitchen floor. I was with him when he went home to Jesus.

God gives us all every opportunity to accept Him. He will do the same for your girl. Keep praying, and I will keep praying. Let's see what God does.

Pray and praise about everything.

For the moms and dads who have submitted prayer requests here,

I want to share the short version of a testimony.  I hope it blesses you.  When my youngest son was 13, I accepted Jesus.  That same year, he began using drugs, although I didn't know it until he was 16.

Face to the floor, I pleaded with my Father praying these verses, Heb 4:16, Eph 6:12, II Cor:3-5 and Rom 8:26.  For three months, I cried my eyes out and prayed earnestly as if he lay in a hospital emergency room.  I sought desparately for a trustworthy, mature-in-the-Lord, minister of God who would father my son and show him the love of Jesus.  Long story short, that happened but my son ran away from the pastor.  From age 17 until 20, he was on the streets.  During those three years, I learned alot about spiritual warfare and intercession.  Also, I began to practice the action of praising God in every situation just as Acts 16:25,26 and Phil 4:4-7 encourage us to do.  Sometimes praise was a sacrifice offered to our Lord.  Other times, it was a joy just to trust Him.

Then, last fall, my son fell to, once again, suicidal days.  At this same time, my oldest son was serving in the military in Iraq.  Both sons were in a war and I knew it.  In November 2004, my son was in the depths of suicidal issues.  At that time, the Lord instructed me to stop pleading, but to praise and give glory to Him for being in the situation.   (For both sons!)  My youngest son became homeless on 12-24-04 and God told me to do nothing about his housing.

On Christmas morning, my son invited me to go play golf with him.  I had never been on a golf course, but of course, I went (to pull the golf bag and follow along).  He was still so "down" that his speach was gutteral but he admitted that he had moved in with the minister.  I literally followed my 20 year old young son through 18 holes and prayed and praised God in my heart, still not knowing how he was with God.  I didn't dare ask for I had learned not to push.  There is a time for that, but wisdom told me to keep quiet and to let the Holy Spirit draw my son to Him.

Within two weeks, my son spoke the words to me that he had accepted Jesus!  Now, six months later, my son has prayed many times--for me!  Smiley  He has grown into a strong man of God who is reaching out to his friends left behind in drugs.

He still lives with the pastor and there are other strong men of God within my church who continue to bless him with their discipleship.  I am comforted to know that he has the mentoring of mature men of God who live the Christian life with honor.  Moreover, my son enjoys knowing and living in the presence of the Lord!  By the way, my first born son came back from Iraq safe and sound, with several testimonies of his own.

Those years when my youngest was not saved were not spent in isolation.  I needed sisters in the Lord like never before.  A couple of sisters discipled me and many sisters joined me in intercessory prayer for both sons.  So, I join you in your prayers.

One more thought, I've been a Christian just a little over six years and I still think the greatest miracle of Christianity is the love of Jesus.  As I write this, I marvel at the thought that we are all of one mind in Christ Jesus, one Lord and Savior, and we can lift our hearts to the throne of our Abba Father for His mercy in our times of need.  We can cast our cares upon Him for He cares for every one of us--and our children!   Cheesy

Love ya,  selahjoy*

Praise To the Ftaher my sister!!

Please thank your son for serving in Iraq for our freedom and safety. I am Canadian, and I am ashamed of the depth our government has allowed our military to sink to. I am also ashamed that our government refused to stand beside our American brothers and sisters in their fight against terrorism. So please thank your sons on behalf of myself and the many Canadians who are like minded.

Bronzesnake,

I certainly will give my oldest son your sincere sentiment!

As for me, I had no idea that Canadians were not participating in the protective services against terrorism.  So now that I know, can we agree to choose a humble stand under our given government's authority, and pray the Canadian AND American governments adopt all of the Biblical worldview, as Jesus summarized and outlined it, to protect the nations with honor, for the glory of God.  The thought comes to mind that as long as we are on this side of heaven, no government will be completely like my prayer above.  So, I pray God's will, in Jesus name.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all the Canadians, and other countries too, that have joined in prayer against terrorism and for the kingdom of God to come.  It seems to me that as impressive as the US military power seems, prayer is the key to winning....anything.

This thought actually segways right back into the subject of praying for our kids.  Can we add my soldier son to that list?  His name is Rob.  He believes in God, but does not understand the Bible to be THE the the written authority by which he chooses his beliefs.  Thank you, Believing Christians, as we agree in Jesus' name for our children.

Prayer is indeed the most powerful tool that we have against terrorism. My prayers go out daily for our Soldiers and Sailors as well as for all government authorities. God can and will use them in His work.

From an old Sailor to your son, Thank you for carrying on in the fight for our freedom. May God bless you and guide you.

I join with the others in prayer for your daughter. May God open her eyes and show her the way.

Actually Pastor Roger,

My prayer request was for my son, Rob.

The daughters who have been named within this stream are Amanda and Angela.  I think Featherlite is Amanda's parent, but unsure about Angela's.  (sorry I don't know the name)

But Yes!  I will tell my son what you said.  In fact, I think I'll see if he wants to visit CU!

Thank's each one of you for your prayers. It encourages me daily when faced with people who are Christcentred not self centred. Thank you Bronzesnake for the website which I have visited a few times already. Many enlightening things there.
Thanks again, God Bless   Smiley
