cloning

in my biology class we were debating about cloning ... and that made me think human cloning is nnot that far away so what would happen to them if they die?

I don't know if you completely understand the science behind cloning. It's not like they'd have no free will. They'd still be human, so they'd still have to answer to God when they die. The only difference is that they'd have the same genetic makeup of the person they were cloned from. They wouldn't be the same person; they wouldn't have the same soul.

I don't agree with cloning at all, but as far as I understand it, that's what it's all about.

Human cloning hasn't been done.  So it is more science fiction than science.  I might comment about the  cloning experiment with sheep "Dolly".  Many scientists have questioned the validity of this experiment.  Dolly's host mother was not keep separate from other sheep so there is some doubt whether Dolly could really be a clone.  As the articles in the website mention, cloning higher mammals is difficult and presents many problems.  

Then there is the question, why would you want to make a clone when the natural way to create a human being is more reliable and definitely cheaper?  - to grow extra organs or replacement body parts???  Why would you need to grow the whole organism just for one part?  

 Fill out a donor organ card.  A better idea for now.

Sure! Science isn't advanced enough to make a baby without a soul.

By the way, according to the Science Journal, if you would like to have your cat cloned, its going to cost you $50,000. The clone will look like your cat, but other than that its a totally different creature, different personality, etc. They aren't cloning dogs as much, but when they do they expect people will be willing to pay up to $100,000.

The best way to clone your pet:
1. Get a cat that looks like Whiskers.
2. Name it Whiskers.

I definately don't understand why people are spending so much time and money experimenting with clones, when its cheap and easy to just leave nature alone.
