Grin  On a certain day about 6 weeks ago, I would have told you I was afraid of a 600 pound nurse coming at me with a needle.

Every day, I'll tell you it's two kinds of snakes, and they're all deadly:

poisonous land snakes

poisonous water snakes

UM?? Air snakes - if there is such a thing.   Grin

Buying things: I have to compare every brand of every product on my list...Meijers is really freaky because they carry so many brands...then, after I've found the cheapest thing, I wonder if I could get it cheaper somewhere else...often I'll give up and make-do without the thing...

Also: socializing, deep water, machinery, new places(and getting to them), tests, deadlines...some nights I have to check my clock again and again just to make sure its running and the alarm is set...I have to check and recheck addresses and names to be sure I'm avoiding the unforgivable mistake of sending the wrong birthday card...

I'm NOT afraid of snakes.  Roll Eyes

Sister,

You just brought to mind another one of my fears, my wife going shopping and maxing out the credit card.   Grin  I certainly like the idea of buying something at a lower price, just not buying everything all at once.

Definitely heights.  I feel like I might fall.  Even on TV, when the camera unexpectedly moves over a cliff, my heart feels like it's in my throat.  I don't mind heights as long as I'm enclosed, ie., in a plane.

I not fond of snakes or spiders, either.  I usually kill spiders when they come inside the house.  I don't think I've ever seen a snake, except on TV.  Don't think I'd want to, either.  Seeing a snake reminds me of the Garden of Eden. Wink

I'm a tad bit apprehensive about heights and spiders.  But my real fear, is fear.  Yup.  I fear being afraid.  My heart races.  I break out in a cold sweat.  My hands get shakey and clammy.  My eyes bulge.  If I had hair, it would stand on end.  I mumble incoherently.  More than normal even.  All when I think that there's something that I might be afraid of.  I fear thinking about something I might be afraid of.  I fret wondering if I should be afraid of something.  Imagine for just a minute with me, there you are, walking down the street on a nice summer day, and crossing the street from the other side, coming straight for you, is a long haired, Nordic Viking.  He looks right at you.  Your heart begins to beat faster, and you turn to go the other way right in the middle of the street.  Coming towards you, having been behind you without your knowing, is a police officer with a night stick.  He's looking sternly right at you and you've yet to pay that parking ticket.  Afraid that this might cause fear, you panick, you turn a quarter turn and begin running into on coming traffic.  There are large trucks and small Volvos all around you.  You begin to wonder if you should fear, but, let's face it, a long-haired Nordic Viking and a cop?!?  You vault the first Volvo and tear the seat of your pants.  There's a noteable draft.  You know.  The uncomfortable kind of draft.  Then you remember what your mother always used to say, "Don't wear wholey underwear!  What would you do if you ended up in the ER with wholey underwear?!?"  Now, your fear of a fear coming to fruition strikes.  And there!  RIGHT THERE!!! Is that word, fruition, which you still don't know if that means "coming to past" or "turning gay."  And now, there you are.  Pursued by a Viking and a cop, in on coming traffic with ripped pants and wholey underwear fearing that you may be turning gay.  SEE???!!!!?Huh

I fear fear.  It's just too full of potentially worse problems.  Fortunately, I can't vault a Volvo.

Grin   Grin   Grin  Yes, I spilled my coffee with that one, and it sure was hot. Now I'm thinking about the lady who got big bucks because McDonalds served her hot coffee, but I made this coffee myself. Juan Valdez did pick and crush the coffee beans for me, but he looks dangerous on the television ads.   Cheesy
