The Apostles a brief history.

1. Simon Peter/Cephas, means The Rock. Born in Bethsaida, later was in Capernuam. He was a fisherman, and wrote 1 Peter and 2 Peter  He was a Missionary among the Jews, as far as Babylon. 11 Pet. 5:13 Probalaby in Rome. He was Crucifed, head down, in Rome.

2. Andrew Peter/Cephas, brother of Simon. Born in Bethsaida, later was in Capernuam. He was a fisherman as well. Andrew preached in Scythis, Greece and Asia Minor. He was Crucifed on St. Andrew's cross. I haven't found where that is yet.

3. James "the elder" Boanerges, means Sons of Thunder. Born in Bethsaida and later in Jerusalem. He was also a fisherman. He preached in Jerusalem and Judea. He was beheaded by Herod in Jerusalem in A.D. 41.

4. John "The Beloved Disciple  Brother of James "the elder." Born in Bethsaida and later in Jerusalem. He was well was a fisherman. He wrote some of Gospel. 3 Epistles, and Revelations He labored among the Churches of, Asia Minor, and especally Ephesus. He was banished ito Patmos. Later he was recalled and died a natural death.

5. James "the younger" Thaddues/Lebbeus His home was in Galilee. he preached in Palestine, and Egypt. I'm not sure which is correct on the following. He was either Crucifed in Egypt, or thrown from a pinnacle in Egypt.

6. Jude brother of James "the younger", His home was in Galilee. He wrote Epistle. he preached in Assyria and in Persia. He was a Martyred in Persia

7. Phillip I haven't found his Sur-name yet. His home was in Bethsaida and he preached in Phrygia. He dieded a Martyr at Hireapolis in Phrygia.

8. Bartholomew Nathaniel, his home was in Cana of Galilee. He was flayed to death.

9. MatthewLevi,  was home was in Capernuam, he was a tax collector. He wrote some of Gospel He died a martyr in Ethiopia.

10. Thomas Didymus, His time was in Galilee, he is claimed by the Syrians Christians as the founder of their Chruch. perhaps also in Persia and India. He was shot by arrows while in prayer.

11. Simon Cananaen/Zelotes, His timw was also in Galilee. he was He Crucifed

12. Judas Iscariot, was from Kerioth, of Judea. He betrayed the Lord Jesus. he died by suicide.

Anything else, you  know would be enjoyed by me. This is a personal search, for my information.

12. Matthias, replaced Judas (chosen by lot). A levite from Cyprus, he has pretty much been ignored by history, with most believing that he never did anything. On the contrary, he is named later in Acts as an apostle, and is responsible for helping Paul, protecting and nurturing John Mark after Pauls anger snit at him, and was surnamed in Greek "Bar Nabas", which is to say "son of exhortation". Acts incorrectly translates it as "son of consolation".  Spent several nights in jail, but it's unknown exactly how he died. We know him as Barnabas, Paul's close running buddy for a few years.

Matthias, the apostle chosen to replace  Judas Iscariot, was stoned and then beheaded.
