Well, I think that we need border control to prevent these people from coming into our country. There are like 3 million illeagol aliens coming into our country each year. Free to walk right across the borders! Free to steal our jobs! Free to anyone to anyone who wants to come on over. Well, ya know what? Don't tell me that  we're doing all we can to prevent terrorism, when each day 8-9 thousand people come into our country illeagolly. Something has to be done about this!

Put up the equavalent of the Iron Wall or the Wall of China around our country and increase the Border Control (yes we do have such already) we will still have this problem.

Something that would help is to stop all the free handouts to illegal aliens. Stop making it an attractive life for them.

They get welfare (food, healthcare, etc.). The govn't puts things in multiple languages to make it easier for them. Now there is a proposal to allow them to get a drivers liscense.

The problem with Border Patrol is our borders are so big that it is impossible to patrol them efficiently enough to prevent these people from coming through.

I believe the numbers per day of illegals caught crossing the border is 4,000 average. One border patrol officer who's been working it for around 30 years has said that it could be sealed and gave options, but the problem is that our Central Government does not wish to close the borders. Neither presidential canidate has addressed this issue. They both know what's going on however, which scares me because neither of them are truly looking out for our best interest. Such corruption is definitely scary in light of the fact that if our elected leaders who's only purpose is to protect us, aren't concerned, then we're heading into trouble. I sort of have gotten lost in my own thoughts, but I needed to vent that today. Learning the truth can often be depressing. If somebody wants, they can put this thread back on track haha. Take Care.

Our borders can be sealed? It is a logistical impossibilty without putting up some kind of wall all around us. Look how many miles are involved, The Canadian border, the mexican border plus all the water front properties. Not even feasible let alone the fiscal expense. To put enough manpower to watch these borders around the clock (even with todays technology) would be astronomical also.

Neither presidential canidate has addressed this issue?
There are plans currently being acted on to place helicopters along the Canadian border and to beef up the security along the Mexican border. The Coast Guard is getting new boats that will be used to patrol the water fronts. This might help reduce this threat but it will not stop it.

The Bush administration is doing all it can and I am sure that there is much more being done that is not being told to anyone until those plans get worked out.

I think the root of the problem needs to be looked at. They have terrible lives, they think going to America will make it better. It won't; infact, it's probably just as bad.

I understand, my point is close the Mexican border and they will come in elsewhere. It might slow them down temporarily but they will still find a way in as long as it is better for them here than it is at home.

 I believe if the US will help out Mexico with more jobs so that mexico will be independent we would not have the border problems we are having. The out of control border control the illegal immigrants are destroying the foundations of America especially the arabs (terriost) coming thorugh the mexican border into america. If we build a wall similar to the wall in Israel and put troops or hire more border control authorities around the wall and video cameras we would not have the problems we are having now. And if one crosses or even tries to come across the wall they should be shot. Or if they make it across into american soil they need to have a Veri Chip places into there hand and send them back to Mexico. So they can keep track of that particualr immigrant.

Start a factory.  (pay less than half of our minimum wages to your employees)  

Sell your products here in America!

You have a ten year old dying daughter.  She has lung promblems.  
(Living in Mexico City is like smoking 4 packs of cigerates a day, although since this statistic it has gotten a little better.)

You have a choice; you can follow the laws of FAT AMERICANS (We are fat with excess of good and services and this; like Rome will be our fall)!

OR  You can "smuggle" your "ALIEN"  (of all words) here so that she might be saved.

Living in a border state, (Arizona) I have noticed. The illegal immigrants, do the jobs no one else will work. Therefore they are not stealing jobs. They are doing what some folks won't do. Or what they think they are too good for..................

Now I have a question, how many of you live in a border state, next to Mexico?

I used to live in Stockton and in San Diego, CA. Because of CA laws most of the illegals could only get seasonal farm work. So I agree With DW, for the most part, at least in that state. Nobody else wanted seasonal work.

However, illegals did a lot of cement laborer work in TN where it put a lot of local people out of work because they would work for so much less than others (below minimum wage). The job was on an IRS project! Whenever the government people came out to inspect the work they would scatter like roaches, disappearing until the government workers were gone.

The cement pads were poor quality and wouldn't hold up to their task because of the cement having to sit to long before getting poured. It cost a lot to fix it and at taxpayers expense.
