I have just started reading the first Left Behind book. It's sometimes hard to read though because I think of all of those I know who will be 'left behind'. How do some of you all cope with this? I have so many friends and family who believe that just becuase they believe in God or go to church that they will go to heaven.

Here is the home page for the Left Behind series.
http://www.leftbehind.com/channelbooks.asp

Here is a short bite of the books.
LEFT BEHIND
In one cataclysmic moment, millions of people disappear, throwing the world into instant chaos. Pilot Rayford Steele, journalist Buck Williams, minister Bruce Barnes, and student Chloe Steele all search for the answers, only to discover they are entering the seven-year period called the Tribulation.

TRIBULATION FORCE
Rayford, Buck, Bruce, and Chloe band together to form the Tribulation Force. Their task: to warn the world of the deception being carried out by enemies of God. How can they expose the deceivers for who they are?

NICOLAE
As the identity of the Antichrist becomes vividly clear, the Tribulation Force presses on in its mission to win as many people to Christ as possible. Through divine providence, Rayford becomes the ears of the Tribulation Force at the highest levels of Nicolae's regime. A tense all-night rescue operation from Israel through the Sinai Desert follows!

SOUL HARVEST
Soul Harvest—In the aftermath of a mega-earthquake, the Tribulation Force, scattered all over the world, prepares for even greater destruction and persecution. Scripture predicts a great soul harvest as well as harsher judgments from God.

APOLLYON
The Tribulation Force and its spiritual mentor, Tsion Ben-Judah, are boldly defying the Antichrist. As tension mounts, the fifth trumpet judgment releases a plague of scorpion-like locusts. The torture they inflict is so horrifying that people try to kill themselves but cannot die.

ASSASSINS
Four significant murders are prophesied in Scripture—those of the two witnesses, the head of the Antichrist's one-world faith, and the Antichrist himself, who suffers a lethal head wound. World history and prophecy collide in Jerusalem, bringing about shocking results.

This covers up to 38 weeks of the Tribulation.
There are 12 books in the series.

Thats not very nice

Then it's a good thing I don't claim to be a very nice person.

We all should be like you and watch Harry Potters movies over and over

You'll get more out of those movies than you'll get out of reading that Left Behind crap.

Alliecat - I've read all twelve and enjoyed the series.

The biggest beef I have is that they could have done "normal printing" for a novel and gotten all twelve books into 4, 400 page editions.  (If you haven't noticed, the entire series is double spaced with wide margins.)  They really stretched it out - why?  Money, maybe?

Sapph:  Be nice, boy.  It doesn't matter if you ever said you would be nice or not.  You can be a jerk to me - I expect it.  To newer folks you should at least get to know them a little bit before you spring your "jerkness".   Grin

Careful Sapph - take a deep breath before you reply...
Deeeeep Breath,
Deeeeep Breath,
Deeeeep Breath,
Deeeeep Breath,
Deeeeep Breath,
Deeeeep Breath,

Have you passed out yet?Huh  Grin

At 16 Young man, you ought to be nice, or the girls will Not like you!

As long as at least one does, I think I'll be fine...

To newer folks you should at least get to know them a little bit before you spring your "jerkness".

Well, if newer people stop coming to this site or get offended because of something they read online by some 16-year-old who, as it has been shown here time and again, has no valid opinions and quite simply is not allowed to have any until he gets into college (because, apparently, you're automatically respected by everyone at that age), then they're the ones with the problems, not me.

Excuse me, but with out new people this site would only have a few people Sapphire W34P0N. Is that what you want? When you grow up and show respect to others, it is expected to  return that respect. Don't be insulting others, that is as far way from Jesus as you can get.

The moral; Respect others as you want to be respected. Grin
