Food Drive

Hi everyone.
This is a board to tell what you're being called to do or what you are doing in your community. So I'm going to tell that.
My mom has always said that some of my gifts are compassion, a heart to help, and I'm an idea person. In the past year or so I've realized that God want me to use my gifts for the sake of Him and others.
This past year at school I started a food drive. We made it so that there was a competition between the three Humanities classes. It turned out to be a huge success. With 60 people in the school, we had over 1,500 items donated to go to Sunshine Mission. I hope to organize food drives at school in the future also.
   I don't say this to brag, in fact if someone tells me that's such a good idea I'll tell them that it's God's idea, he just used me. I say all this to encourage you to do something like it. Food drives, clothing drives, toiletry drives, etc... are all great ways to help others but can be made fun for everyone also.
  The best part about it was thinking that each item that was donated would go to someone who had nothing. The thought of the smiles on their faces when they got the food made all the work and organization and hours of counting all well worth it.
