Oklahoma Howdy to All,

This is an attempt to find out what your primary purpose is for coming to Christians Unite. I really hope that everyone gives their input here, and I hope the choices are somewhat logical. The choice of "Other - Please state" should add anything you wish to the choices.

It would also be nice if everyone made a post here and let everyone know what you like and what you want. It should be a given that it is impossible to make everyone happy, but it would be nice to hear individual thoughts and wishes.

Love In Christ,

My main reason for visiting CU is "Discussion of Christian Topics".  My vote of SOME of the above would include that choice along with, Retreat, peace, fellowship, although I find retreat better serves me at home with the PC off...lol

I like the variety of backgrounds here which makes for a great variety of topics and discussions.  As for wants, I can't think of any particulars other than the Love of christ being evident in us to visitors that happen along.

My choices:
1. Retreat, peace, fellowship.

2. Discussion of Christian Topics.

We could only pick one, so I chose the first. However, the second one is a close second!  Grin

Well, I have to say I chose all of the above.

Originally, I came to the forum because God led me here. Didn't know why, really.

But I have to say it's been wonderful...even through the "war". God used that situation (Heidi, specifically) to teach me patience (which I was sadly lacking).

So, although I enjoy reading the bible studies and other sections, I also came to enjoy the debate section more than I thought I ever would. Yep, it frustrated me beyond belief at first, lol. Spiritual battles are never easy.

More out of habit than anything. I like to think of myself as someone who offers different viewpoints on usually "set-in-stone" topics without involving myself in the more serious debates.

I need daily Christian fellowship.  When I say I "need" it, I mean I REALLY NEED IT!
Very often I feel as if I live in Gomorrah and work in Sodom.  (In fact, I KNOW I work in Sodom – San Francisco).  My day is over twelve hours.  I get up at 4:30 AM, catch the 5:30 AM train to the city – a 45 minute ride – work with about 150 people who are predominately liberal scoffers, catch the 4:25 PM train back to Contra Costa County and I am home by 5:30.  That leaves little time for fellowship with members of my congregation – particularly since my place of worship is another 20 miles east from where I live.  I am one who has come to depend on daily fellowship.  That fellowship is always available here at ChristiansUnite.
Thank you all for being here to fill my need for fellowship.  You have all – each and everyone – helped me to grow in our Savior.  C-Unite, for me, is a God-send!
May the love of Jesus be yours forever!

Oklahoma Howdy to All,

This thread is very interesting, and I really appreciate your thoughts. I voted "Some of the Above". I usually don't like debate, but that may change with many of your proposals. My primary interest is peace, fellowship, and discussion of Christian topics.

In looking back, I probably made a fool out of myself in most of the debates I became involved in. Some of them were like waving a red flag at my "bull in the china closet" problem that I've prayed about for a long time. I think that much of it is how you define "Debate". I've seen quite a few excellent discussions of varying views where nothing got personal and nobody got angry or had hurt feelings. I do believe that everyone can learn something from an exchange of information like this. The topic may also have much to do with whether the discussion will be pleasant or the charge of two "Light Brigades".   Grin  For you young folks, the Light Brigade was one of the finest cavalry units to ever take the field of battle. By the way, horses - not Air Cav.   Cheesy

I like to come for the fellowship...it feels like my Internet 'home'. I don't debate much, just don't have quite the intellect for that. But its good to come to the prayer section, and sometimes post a joke or some other note. Its always exciting (for me!) to open my email box, and find that someone from ChristiansUnite sent me a message...like getting a letter from a dear friend. I save them all.

I am enjoying Chritians Unite tremendously! I came here originally  because my church broke up and I was really feeling kinda lost and lacking fellowship. I was missing  the word of God in my life. I am new to the Lord and have discovered I am learning a lot here, in every section of the website. I am also amused, uplifted, and encouraged.

                Thanks Everyone! Grin
