I was just wondering, after reading the thread on ghosts...has anyone had a near death experience?
When I was 24, I got the chicken pox...internally as well as externally....the infested my liver, lungs, around my heart, kidneys, etc. My outter appearance was horrid...I had no nose...my face was so infested and swollen....I looked morbid....after finally being rejected 5 times by the ER they FINALLY took me b/c my temp was 105.7, and I had pnuemonia...could barely walk, couldn't eat, etc. They didn't expect me to live.
Anyway, I remember the first night/day I was there, they had me write a will...and CDC came to check me(were there the entire time I was)....I was in a coma for I believe 4 or 5 days...Well....at one point, I don't know which day it was, I remember feeling a totaly peace and warmth, total love all around me....and I saw two ppl, more shadowed, but glowing...I can't really explain it totally. I was so ready and at peace to die...I mean, no pain, no fear, etc....then I could have SWORN it was my deceased grandmothers voice telling me it just wasn't my time....and I remember, not arguing w/ her, but saying, Nana, I am so ready...I want to go....and the response was that God still needed me here...(I had my daughter a few years later)....
I can't get over the peace and warmth I felt....totally different from any effect the pain meds and other meds I was on affected me. I can envision the entire thing like it is happening now, and hear her voice and feel her touching my hand.
Am I crazy? I'm not insinuating that I am special in any way, was just wondering if anyone else experienced anything like this? I met one woman once who had a very similar experience.
That is a beautiful story, but we have to be very careful about N.D.E.'s because people of different beliefs who have experienced NDE's see their own "god".
For example, a Buddhist sees Buddha, other eastern religions experience their own particular gods and goddess' and they all believe totally in the reality of their experience. I believe satan can appear as an angel of light in order to deceive. If satan can put any biblical doctrine into dispute, then how can we trust any of it?
In other words, if I'm a Buddhist and I experience a Buddhist afterlife, how can the Christian bible be true?
Jesus said, it is appointed for man to die once only.
I'm not saying you're experience was a trick, I'm saying we must be careful.
