In another thread in "General Theology" Christians that post here are accused of mockery.

What is mockery?

What is the scriptural meaning?

How does God describe it in His word and are there any examples of it?

What is the worldly meaning?

How does man describe it and what would be an example of it?

Where is an example of one or the other or both in this web site? Mockery of another's faith by Christians that is not the mockery of atheists, beligerents, etc.

I may be guilty of this unawares and would like to have a better understanding of what it means to mock.

Praying to grow and overcome this if guilty. I pray we all are.

Hi Ollie.

Here the dictionary meaning. I'm sure we've all been guilty of mocking at one time or another.

mock
v. mocked, mock·ing, mocks

To treat with ridicule or contempt; deride.

To mimic, as in sport or derision.

To imitate; counterfeit.

To frustrate the hopes of; disappoint.

Ollie,

You are not part of it. I assume they are talking about the Catholic humiliation threads that a few worked so diligently on since 12-2003. That's what turned a fairly large portion of the forum into a war zone. Very few of the regular folks here had anything at all to do with it. Take a look in debate and you will easily see it.

Love In Christ,
Tom
