There is a new movie called "SAVED."  I have only seen previews but it looks good.  It raises alot of difficult issues that teens must face including questioning faith and it looks pretty funny too.  However, some people have said that the movie is Anti-Christian.  I will judge for myself when I see it, but I want to know what other people think.

I heard a report on a conservative radio talk show.

One girls mother is having an affair with the Preacher who's single.

Another girl finds out her boyfriend is homosexual and tries to "sex" him straight.

So, it appears to be a "humerous" slam movie.

From what I can tell, it makes fun of self-righteous Christian teen-agers.

I thought the movie slammed hypocricy and made fun of people who believe and never question things, not Christianity.  It a movie that dealt with some serious topics and it was hilarious.

I agree completely with you Jericho...I saw this movie this weekend and I found it to be refreshingly funny and not worth the controversy that has surrounded it since I first heard of it (it is not offensive, at least in my opinion).  In fact, I think everyone should check it out just so we could have a more honest discussion on stereotypes and the like.  Also, this movie is hilarious.  I definitely recommend it!

Sounds to me like it is misrepresenting christianity.  Trashing it.  Whoa.  Thats bound to be a smash hit.  Any christian who supports this garbage needs to examine their relationship with Jesus.  I don't care how funny other people say it is.

Can you imagine the outrage if this was a movie poking fun of Islam?!  Not a pleasant thought is it?  Why all the attacks on christianity?  Because it is the one thing Satan is focused on.  He does not need to lead people of other faiths away because they are already lost.

Hollywood needs Jesus not another stupid teen movie!

Oklahoma Howdy to All,

I don't go to many movies, mainly because I just don't have the money and sometimes because I have no interest in worldly movies that are a mockery of Christ and the teachings of the Holy Bible. If I want to laugh, it will not be at the expense of Christ or the teachings of the Holy Bible. I wouldn't see this movie if it was free. Think whatever you wish of me, but what I read about this movie indicates the devil working in a sly way to discourage and confuse our Christian young people. So, I would consider it garbage.

Love In Christ,
Tom

However, some people have said that the movie is Anti-Christian.

As they said in the book Right Behind:

"They think we are making fun of Christianity, but we are  really just making fun of their Muppet version of it."

In a church a few miles down the way, half the members, lead by the pastors sister, left because he said he didn’t believe in Pre-trib. They said he can’t be a Christian if he isn’t Pre-trib. So often Christians can be to close minded. Religion is a touchy topic, I know, but if God can us an ass to tell us the truth, surely he can use a disgruntled anti-Christian. So, many Christians say "I don't think I understand it all" but often I wonder how many beleive that...

Either way, Saved! was amazing.

It didn't portray born-again Christians badly, just humorously. Again, I encourage y'all to go see it. Smiley
