I'm a llama!

Hello- I wanted to write something- tell just a portion of my story.  Oh what a work in progress.  I did not grow up in a Christian home.  My parents are very wealthy people who are concerned mostly with how they look to other people.  They have an image to keep- and in their opinion so do I.  I spent most of my adult life in a very abusive relationship.  My family are still in close contact with my ex- which thus means I have very little contact my family. I have no trust for people as they have continually broken my trust and hurt me. And I am working on undoing years of mental abusive from both my parents and my ex.  I have come to terms that physically I may never heal.  I have scars from burns on my face and arms.  I will walk with a limp for the rest of my life on earth because I was not allowed to go to the hospital to get treatment after my foot was broken in a beating. I suffer from depression and social anxiety.  I have a super Christian therapist who has helped me over come many things.  I have a wonderful new family through my church.  I still have many questions about my faith- and am working hard on the forgiving myself and others.  It is difficult when each day I look in the mirror and have to see the physical damage that my past has done- and live with the pain.  But I know that if I keep trudging ahead and stay on this path life will only get better.  One day I will sleep an entire nights sleep, I will not wake up fearful for my life.  One day getting out of bed will not be such a struggle.  But for today I thank God that I am alive.  I look forward to what is ahead.  I look forward to learning to trust and love.

Welcome to our fellowship ML  Cry    Smiley

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s a light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
Over us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conquerors we are!

His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

1Pe 5:7  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Oklahoma Howdy to M.L.,

I hope you enjoy Christians Unite. I'm a retired police officer, and what you relate is very familiar to me. There is a cycle of abuse, and only you can break it. I would first tell you to place your trust in Jesus, not men. Second, I would tell you to prosecute and not let anyone change your mind. Third, if you depend on something or someone that relates to keeping you tied to more abuse, drop it and leave it. Fourth, check for support groups in your area that can share all of the resources with you. Your local police department should be able to give you a list.

You have a right to demand a life free from abuse and battering, physical or emotional. Stand up and demand nothing less. In the meantime, trust in Jesus and remember that men fail. I'll be praying for you.

Love in Christ,
Tom

Praying for you ML...

I was in a physical and emotionally abusive relationship also.
Beaten up almost daily, emotional abuse constantly, etc.
I totally left the state and left him behind, and now, with the help of a lot of good people and especially the Lord, I am beyond any fear or stress from anything.

God bless...

Oklahoma Howdy to DovesWings,

I give thanks that the Lord was and is there for you. Without Jesus, many domestic situations are impossible to deal with and finally result tragedy or completely ruined lives. There is a new day and a new way when you have Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.

Love In Christ,

Hi ML,
I haven't  even introduced myself here yet but ooh does your post resonate with me! I just want to share with you that I came from the same background and was also responsible for involving myself with Abusive people in my adult life.
Just press in.......... open your heart to God! .... completely, let him guide your life. Faith ,  Trust, Confidence in the fact that God's Will will be done in your life.  God has worked such a miracle in my life I will share more with you later, I have to run this mornin' But just wanted to let you know I am praying for you.  I suspect the Lord has Big plans for your life. In my experience the more damage we suffer, just means a more powerful testimony for the glory of God!!

Inside the weary does jump for joy, the everlasting hope does prevail.  You're  loved and noticed because you are part of us and we are all part of the body of Christ.
God gives us the strength, and has given you a clear passage from guilt.  Those who have damaged are only to answer, and you that they attemtpted to damage have prevailed.  For God sees your heart, and so do we.  It might be a long road, but I think it doesn't need to be.

Rest, rest, oh gentle one,
for God has just begun.
The days are long to all
his sons,
and the sight is brightly
sung.
For joy is thread
and sews our soul
into our heart
and fills our bowl.
Peace sits upon
our being
knowing God is
always seeing.
Fear is short as the
mind does race
into the trust
of His loving grace.

This is what God gives us.  We are with ya in prayers and
understanding.   iconHis  By the way, welcome.  Grin
