Many do not recognise the fact as they ought, that Satan has got men fast asleep in sin and that it is his great device to keep them so.  He does not care what we do if he can do that.  We may sing songs about the sweet by and by, preach sermons and say prayers until doomsday, and he will never concern himself about us, if we don't wake anybody up.  But if we awake the sleeping sinner he will gnash on us with his teeth.  This is our work - to wake people up.

I`M AWAKE!

sorry could`nt resist ...I agree with that...sorta...unless by prayers that meant repetitious just for show kind of prayers...and sermons that lack the unction of the Spirit...and  monotone singing ...then I agree fully

Isa 55:11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it.

Ch 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

WHAT MAKES A GREAT CHURCH?

Not big budgets... but great hearts.
Not tall steeples... but lofty vision.
Not money received...
but service rendered.
Not record-breaking attendance...
but God's presence.
Not frantic notions...
but dedicated action.
Not soft seats and bright lights...
but shining examples in our lives.
Not loud talking... but quiet doing.
Not members in beautiful clothes...
but members with beautiful lives.
Not preachers with degrees...
but teachers with loving truth.
Not things done in the past...
but things being done NOW and in the FUTURE.

HOW TO BE AN INEFFECTIVE PREACHER

·  Start every sermon with a joke.
·  Strive to please everyone.certainly never preach on holiness.
·  Make sure your sermon is 100% theory and 0% application.
·  Be politically correct.  Do not mention sin or call people to repentance.
·  Use as many Greek words as possible, making it complex and difficult to
understand.
·  Preach a "user-friendly" gospel that leaves people feeling good and does not provoke conviction of sin.
·  Give the impression that all religious people are God's children and heaven-bound.

Never challenge people to consider whether they are really 'in the faith.'
·  Live differently to how you preach.  Urge your listeners to do things that you don't do, and to abstain from things that you indulge in.  That will ensure ineffectiveness.

Worrior,

Thanks for your reminder!

One of my mentors told me that it is not enough to be a "good" Christian.  We need to be "dangerous" Christians.  We need to actively expand the kingdom of God, breaking the barriers and do the things never done before and advance forward.

We need to be labeled as "dangerous" Christians.

Thanks for the reminder!

COURAGE, BROTHER!

Some will hate thee, some will love thee,
some will flatter, some will slight.
Cease from man, and look above thee:
Trust in God, and do the right.
