PhilKosba,

You may find this hard to believe at this point but i was serious.   Smiley

The cry Sola Scripture rings i my ears. When we read His Word HE makes it alive to us. Reading the many different translations seems to be helpful. Exhaust the Word then move to the commentaries. Matt Henry is a good commentator, very dry but good.

Sheeesh guys glad you had a laugh  Tongue

Now THAT was funny!  Seriously though Phil, I've always enjoyed Warren Wiersbe's commentaries, or John MacArther.  They're pretty good.  Course good ol' Matthew Henry isn't bad either!  Wink  But nothing beats God's word coupled with God's Spirit.  Smiley

I love Matthew Henry, too. Matthew Poole is also good. Smiley

You may want to check with The Banner of Truth Trust-they offer excellent publications.

www.banneroftruth.org/pages/home.php

Click Book Catalog at the bottom; unfortuantely you have to go through it alphabetically. Or you can email them and ask them for assistance.
