Finding a church might be a good starting point; if you can get good one-on-one support from another believer who can help you grow in the Lord, such as a pastor or friend, you will be able to have questions answered, etc. Going to church isn't the only part of being a Christian, though; it is good, but it will not save you. You must first put your trust in Jesus, and know that He is God, and that He died for your sins and was resurrected!  Smiley

Going to Taco Bell, wont make you a taco.

Like going to (church) wont make you a Christian.

“Yo Quiero Taco Bell”
"Here leezard, leezard, leezard!"
 Grin

No - but you can certainly meet more Christians in Church than in a Taco Bell.  Gotta start some place...

Look in your local newspaper in the religion section - there should be a listing of churches and denominations - or you can probably find a similar listing in your local yellow pages in the phone book.
If you choose a Baptist church there will be an "invitation" at the end of the service. (I'm sure many other Christian churches offer the same - but I'm a life-long Baptist so I can't tell you with all certainty. I'm sure others on this forum can tell you.)  Accept the invitation!  You will then be counseled by the church teachers and accepted as a part of the flock – and WHAM!  Just like that your life changes!
There is a simple prayer you can pray in the privacy of your own home:
“Dear Jesus, I believe you are who you say you are.  I believe that you were born of a virgin, and are the true, one and only Son of God.  I believe you lived a sinless life.  I believe you were crucified for the sins of the world – including mine, and you died.  I believe that with your death my sins were paid for – paid in full.  I believe that on the third day, you rose from the dead.  I believe you have a gift for all who believe in you – the gift of the Holy Spirit.  Dear Jesus, I invite you to live in my heart.  I accept your free gift of Grace.  In your Holy Name I ask it, AMEN!”
I’ll pray for you, buddy!

Reading the Bible is the best way to start! God has blessed us with His word. Tis truly amazing how and where HE finds us.

What more is there except to find an assembly of believers like yourself.

Why do you say this when you say you believe in Jesus and are starting to read His word?

Jesus Christ will lead you, continue to study His word and put your trust in Him to show you. Also pray.

Amen, Ollie, and Welcome. Earthwalker.  I'm sorry that some of us saw fit to make light of your inquiry.  Please forgive us for our insensitivity.  Please feel free, Earthealker, to put your concerns and questions on this board.  I'm sure the Lord will help you through other believers on this forum.

BTW, you do need the fellowship and encouragement of a local assembly of born-again believers who follow the New Testament pattern of assembling and worship (Acts 2:37-47).
Ask the Lord to lead you to those who will build you up in the faith.  Many blessings!
