Here is one.

There's Within My Heart a Melody
Text: Luther B. Bridgers
Music: Luther B. Bridgers

1.   There's within my heart a melody
   Jesus whispers sweet and low:
Fear not, I am with thee, peace, be still,
in all of life's ebb and flow.
Refrain:
   Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
   sweetest name I know,
   fills my every longing,
keeps me singing as I go.

2.   All my life was wrecked by sin and strife,
   discord filled my heart with pain;
Jesus swept across the broken strings,
   stirred the slumbering chords again.
   (Refrain)

3.   Though sometimes he leads through waters deep,
   trials fall across the way,
though sometimes the path seems rough and steep,
see his footprints all the way.
   (Refrain)

4.   Feasting on the riches of his grace,
   resting neath his sheltering wing,
always looking on his smiling face,
that is why I shout and sing.
   (Refrain)

5.   Soon he's coming back to welcome me
   far beyond the starry sky;
   I shall wing my flight to worlds unknown;
I shall reign with him on high.
   (Refrain)

Hmmm.  This is a little tough because what do we consider a Hymn.  I go to a contemporary service, so we sing different songs.  I also sing songs of praise all day long that are not out of song books.

Some of my favorites are:
I'll Fly Away - always puts a smile on my face
I Can Only Imagine
Amazing Grace - explaination not needed.
God of Wonders - I think this is the name

Sancte Deus by Thomas Tallis Grin Don’t like ANY "present" hymns. The authors don't seem comprehend the concept of "Worship" anymore. It is all about "me."

Oklahoma Howdy to All,

I have too many favorites to list. I like the older Gospel music with the beautiful words and melodies. The ones I enjoy the most were sung by loved ones who have gone home to be with the Lord. I can still hear them singing in my mind:

How Great Thou Art
Beyond The Sunset
Whispering Hope
Beneath The Cross Of Jesus
At The Cross
Amazing Grace
The Old Rugged Cross
A New Name In Glory
Heavenly Sunlight
I Love To Tell The Story
It Is No Secret
In The Sweet By And By
Morning Has Broken
Precious Lord
Softly And Tenderly
Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
Were You There

I also like to listen to many of the old Southern Gospel songs that many people have never heard. These are the songs the field hands sang when they got tired and the songs they sang when they were worn out at the end of a hard day of work.

In Christ,
Tom

I love all of Blackeyedpeas' suggestions, as well as "And Can it Be", "Christian Dost Thou See Them", "Crown Him", "Am I a Soldier of the Cross?" "Blessed is the Man Whose Trespass"...

Also, I love Charles Wesley hymns, possibly my favorite being "Jesus Lover of My Soul", with the welsh tune aberystwyth. And "Alleluia, Alleluia," tune ton-y-botel. (Actually, I enjoy the tunes as much as the words sometimes!)

Nevermind. I think I just like 'em all.
