www.chatarea.com/themostawesomesociety will soon be holding a christain vs athiest debate in its philosophy section if any christains would be interested in this debate.  the debate should be starting soon if people are interested in one.
hope to see you there

I'd really like to engage in the debate but it would be fruitless because the only ones who can understand the Christian viewpoint are the ones whom God has called. The other ones have blinders on that only God can pull off. Still...I'm just stubborn enough to try it.

Be not unequally yoked with non believers.

2 Corinthians 6:14.  Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
 15.  And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

True, Ollie, but we can't bring people to the Lord who already have the Lord. Again, it's being in the world but not of the world.

And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?" But when he heard it, he said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.' For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."

Well said, Allinall.

Too bad jesus is only paraphrasing the words of the prophet Hosea, the concept quoted by jesus in matthew is not an original teaching but a copy of the prophet HoseaHosea 6:6...  "For I desire goodness, not sacrifice; Obedience to G-d, rather than burnt offerings(Sacrifice)."

And Jesus being the Son of God quoted many other prophets. He was after all born of God as a Jew subject to the law.

Since all these prophetic words had the same source,God, it would seem that all speaking for God would speak from the same source, God.

Calling sinners to God with the gospel of Jesus Christ is not being unequally yoked to unbelievers.

However a debate with the godless could be.
