1  Theology / Debate / Re:56-year-old gives birth to twins on: November 29, 2004, 11:33:15 PM
That's sick. Her EX-BOYFRIEND donated so she could have babies?! Just the thought of a BOYFRIEND doing that, even more so EX-Boyfriend.

I read a report about a woman who had that intro-vitro thing, and she was going to have either twins or triplets, I can't remember..but she aborted all but one. Otherwise it was triplets and she aborted one to just have two. Because it wasn't conveniant for her to have so many so she cut back. It's perverse and murderous and sinful...

3  Theology / Apologetics / Re:Check Out the New Band!!! on: November 29, 2004, 11:15:13 PM
I would hide my face in shame if that concert came to be, Av!

Well, here's a 15 year old's honest opinion, straight from her heart....

I like the NewsBoys and Audio Adrenaline. They are FUN to listen to, and to dance to, and to walk to, but they don't, for the majority of their songs, belong in church.
And, I must admit, some of their songs are slightly disturbing to me.

I USED to like ReliantK...THEN, this last Sunday, in the teen church building, I saw a disgusting, revolting, OFFENDING music video, by ReliantK.

How these boys can pretend to label their music vidoes Christian is beyond me.

It was set in a nursing home, and when it first started, I thought "Well, it's a band, doing a performance in a nursing home. That's pretty nice."

Then it got sick.
A old man pretended to have a heart attack, and one of the band members pretended to give him CPR, and he hopped up all happy and jumpy...
It showed nurses trying to feed old, sick people, and them refusing in the first part, then the same old, sick people mosh-pitting at the end...
At first the old people just sat on the couches listlessly listening to the mind-jarring rock, then started bobbing back and forth, then started hobbling up to throng around the band..
As she was coming up, a shaking old woman with a walker stepped in a bedpan full of liquid...
The fake heart attack man bit the lead singer on the knee, leaving his dentures in...
An old woman was kissing one of the band members on the cheek...
The old people grabbing at the guitar...
Then they began mosh-pitting, passing the band members on their hands...
Some teenagers might find this funny, but I was on the verge of tears.

It was SICK, and it was PERVERSE.

What angered me the most was that these old people weren't just old. They were infirm, like the people at my grandpa's nursing home.
And at my church's youth building, it was played twice.
And it was by the 'Christian' band ReliantK.

Now, let me go to the hymns...

When I sing a praise chorus, I'm left tired, disgusted, and frustrated.

When I sing a hymn, I FEEL straight and strong like a towering cedar, I feel strength seep into my spiritual muscles. I leave off singing refreshed, strengthened, renewed, and satisfied.

AV, I cannot see Jesus or ANY of the Apostles singing modern Christian rock. And the day they start singing a rock song in church for the worship service, is the day I STOP singing there.
(Goodness! Lately I get started ranting, and I keep going, and going, and going and...)

Well, to each his own...

Love ya all,

)Me(

4  Theology / General Theology / Re:Long Hair. 1Cor.11:1-16 on: November 29, 2004, 10:42:49 PM
Eh, BEP, let's make it a quarter. I'm worth it.  Tongue

You're right, Silver.  Now that I actually STOP to THINK about it, ( Lips Sealed), I know quite a few old women who have short white hair. But the way they wear it is distinctly differant than the men, so I suppose that's Okay, since you can obviously tell that they are women. (Now, I have a big feeling that I'M going to be an old, chubby lady with down-to-her-ankles white hair.  Smiley But then I'm just cantankerous enough that I delight in going against the crowd, especially when it comes to fashion. You won't catch ME in hip-hugger jeans with a short T-shirt....'course, that could be the extra fat layerS talking...)

Well, when you look at Jamie Lee Curtis, she has super short hair, spiked, and most of the time, she looks good. It's just....SHORT. I used to have short hair, like, about to my temples, and I looked like an acorn.  Tongue

I guess I need to qoute that old saying 'To him each his own'...(Unless somebody else already qouted it, and if they did, ignore that one and pay attention to mine!!!  Roll Eyes )

Love ya all,

*Me

I love everything you said, and it makes sense to me.

I'm a home-schooled 15 year old who's goal in life, right now, and where I think God is leading me to, is to be a stay at home, Home-schooling mom.

What my plan is (And I know, MY plans aren't neccesarily God's...) is to get a job while I'm single, and once I'm married, *IF* I can keep up with keeping my home clean and welcoming, and a haven for my husband to come home to after work, AND the cooking and baking for us two, I'll get a part-time job for the extra money. But once I have the first baby...I'm staying home.

See, the GOOD THING about Home-schooling, is I'm not sending the fruit of my body and God's gift off to some strange JAIL for 8+ hours a day. I won't be stuck at home while my blessings are at school.
So I won't need a job to keep my occupied. My children won't be filled with FILTH that can come from being in a school.

*I* will be the one who teaches them their first sentences. *I* will be the one who teaches them to read.
*I* will be the one who first teaches them about Jesus Christ!
...And I will be truly blessed to be able to do it.

Okay, I'm done.

(Ducks the various unidentified heavy objects being thrown at her from irate fellow users.  Wink )

Love ya all,

~Me

Oh, and, AV, I'd be very, very pleased, if she has time, to have your wife's e-mail so we could talk! She sounds like a goldmine of wisdom, warning, and information I'll need as a stay at home, Homeschooling mom...(I think my e-mail is on my profile...)

7  Theology / General Theology / Re:Long Hair. 1Cor.11:1-16 on: November 28, 2004, 08:55:25 PM
Well, I is no help whatsoever, not being wise, and easily confused...but, hey, I figure I want my two cent's worth in... Cool

I have really thick and really long hair. It's on the brink of being on my waist. I've gotten comments from 'Wow! You look like Pocahontas!' (Whatever rock star she was, I'll never know. Okay, I'm kidding.) to 'You need to cut your hair.' 'Are you ever going to get it cut?' etc.

Anyway, I love, adore, cherish, and am smug ( Wink) about my long hair, and I like to see other women with long hair, although sightings are few and far between...

I think a woman with short SHORT hair is ugly. Seriously. She looks harsh and man-ish. As in, near-buzz cut hair...hair that's cut short to the scalp and spiked just like men do it...I think it's icky.  Smiley  It's her choice, of course...

I also think (And pleeeaaassse don't shriek at me, Bronze and co.) that a man with long hair, past his shoulders, is soft and woman-ish, even if he's a biker dude. I think it's degrading to a man to look like a woman and when a woman looks like a man she's harsh and out of place.

Ahem...let me put all that jabbering into a short sentance....

Men should not wear their hair so they look like a woman, and women should not wear their hair so they look like a man.
While I'm on that, men should not dress so he'd be mistaken for a woman, and a woman should not dress so she'd be mistaken for a man.

Okay, I'm done.

(Ducks to avoid the numerous unidentified heavy throw'ed objects soaring through the air at her by irate fellow users... Wink)

Love ya guys,

~Me

Wow, Sulfurdolphin! Where did you leanr all of that?
9  Theology / General Theology / Amen? on: November 07, 2004, 04:53:46 PM
This is probably a totally out-there question that has no roots at all in the making sense department.

But...

I've noticed that an ancient Egyptian 'god' was called 'Amen'. Is there any connection between 'Amen' and our amen we use at the end of a prayer?

10  Entertainment / Music / Re:YOUR FAVORITE WORSHIP SONG AND WHY. on: September 17, 2004, 12:58:07 PM

MY Kitty is my baby, too. A dirty, fleabitten, desperatly needs a bath baby...but at least he doesn't wake me up yelling at me to feed him at one in the morning.

...we strongly support family planning
and adoption incentives. Abortion should be safe, legal, and rare.

Safe. Legal. Rare? Sorry, but those three seem disconnected to me.

We support full inclusion of gay and lesbian families in the life of our nation and seek equal
responsibilities, benefits, and protections for these families. In our country, marriage has been
defined at the state level for 200 years, and we believe it should continue to be defined there. We
repudiate President Bush's divisive effort to politicize the Constitution by pursuing a "Federal
Marriage Amendment." Our goal is to bring Americans together, not drive them apart.

THAT ALONE could drive me away from HIM. Homosexuality is a topic that drives my blood to the boiling point.
