16  Theology / Bible Prescription Shop / Re: Like-minded on: August 25, 2012, 07:46:47 AM
Amen! A very good and inspiring post. I thank God for his love and his son. I am truly amazed that a man suffered as he did for the sake of others...not just nice people, but the worst sinner there is. When I think of the babies that was raped in the south African nation to protesct themselves against aids, I am filled with anger, but I have to remember that to God my lie is on the same equal footing as that rapist becaused Christ died for him too.

Praise God that he considered me worthy of his blood, although I am not. I am glad he threw my sins as far as the east is to the west. I wish he threw the memory of those sins away too because Satan uses those memories to place doubts in my mind and make me think I am not saved because of them.  I have had to pray many times when he used a memory to make me doubt, but a talk with God and he has to flee.  Unfortunately, he put up his tent on my porch!

18  Prayer / General Discussion / Re: do you believe the end wll come on December 21'st 2012 on: August 25, 2012, 07:22:05 AM
There are too many trying to superceed God's word by naming the end of the world.  I perfer to spend my time thinking about his coming rather than man's ego in thinking he can second guess God.

or worse yet.... try to tell you how the Bible contradicts itself and how it is so symbolic that we aren't to take it literally. If they get under conviction from your words, then they start throwing in language they know will offend you. They sure can use the Lord's name in vain!
22  Theology / Debate / Re: Errors of the evolution theory on: August 23, 2012, 07:06:42 AM
IMO, the theory of evolution is like the theory of the big bang theory. A theory is just an educated guess... that is all it is. It amazes me how people can staunchly believe in and defend a theory, yet reject God's word!  My son has a very high IQ and he is analytical. He does not believe in God, but he does believe in Darwin... Blows my mind. While he was growing up, I often wished I could stick a syringe into his brain and pull out 10 cc's of IQ and inject 10 cc's of common sense!  I still wish it!

23  Theology / Debate / Re: Euthanasia is wrong! on: August 23, 2012, 06:57:25 AM
I am pro life. I believe that life is precious and only God can decide when a person should die.  Let me ask you this... have you ever had a loved one on "the machine" and knew that all life was gone except for that machine?  My mother had a massvie stroke that wiped out the top of her brain. She was dead in all areas except for the heart which had stopped a couple times.  All five of her children discussed whether to pull the plug or not.  One of us could not do it so we all agreed to leave her as is.  Thankfully God intervened and despite the machine, her heart finally stopped.  Pulling the plug... would that be considered euthanasia?  I don't agree that we should help a person to commit suicide, but we should honor life directives in case of machines being the only thing keeping a person alive.

Hugh-man,
I do not mean to offend, but.... maybe you should throw away all those other books and spend your time reading God's word.  Instead of writing lengthy posts that does not glorify.

I'm very happy to hear that you are doing so much better and that your pain has stopped. I will continue to pray that you heal and recover quickly.

My pt tells me I am doing great and my theraphy doesn't hurt as much as it could.  Most of my pain is from fibromylgia and an ice pack feels wonderful! Grin

Guys,
When is the last time you heard a preacher preach about sin and hell??? Most preach about love.  I agree God's love should be preached, but our loving , merciful God is also a God of wrath and he will allow no sin to enter into heaven.  The only alternative to being a Christian is going to hell.  There will be punishment as there will be rewards and Christ will be the judge and he will accept no excuses.

27  Prayer / General Discussion / Re: New Reality Series on TV for Married Couples on: August 15, 2012, 11:09:17 AM
I know I am a couple month behind here, but I also wanted to comment on these reality tv shows or sitcoms  in general.  When my youngest son was about 4 years old, he loved the 911 show on tv. It was a reality show. we took him to a firestation and they gave him a tour. I talked to a paramedic and he said he hated that show as they only showed the "good" outcomes, not the ones they lost. It gave kids a  false sense of being able to live through anything.

Reality tv to me are not true reality.... only what they want you to see.  True reality is life and how you live it. If your heart does not belongs to Christ, reality tv telling you how to be intimate will not save  your marriage. I cannot believe a true minister of Christ would be on a tv show talking about something that is a very private thing between the couple.  Beware of "false teachers" who will promate Satan's theology as he does on sitcoms that promote homosexuality and living witout marriage as a a person's right.

I am going to survive! My pain is gone and I do not take any meds now. Praise God!  I hated the meds and I cannot see how anyone would enjoy them at all.  A neighbor kid,  that was at my house with my son  while groing up, came by and was so high on something he could hardly carry on a conversation.  I know it is the grip of Satan in his life, but we have the free will to tell Satan no.

yep, it's all around us.  However, I refuse to allow filth be brought into my house, whether by tv, movies, books, etc.  I have Biblical based movies, books, and I watch the news and a lot of PBS programs. I will not support the filth on tv.  Satan is having a ball. He is getting to the next generation with things on tv and movies that should not be acceptable.  When I was young, a girl having a baby out of wedlock was a shame to her and her family.  Now, she lives with her boyfriend, unmarried, and has his children. No shame there.  If a person was thought to be gay, they were ostracised in the community; not now;  My brothers would have lost their teeth if they had cursed in front of Mom or I, not now... now they curse the mothers and sisters.   I would have been humiliated if my brothers saw me in my panties and bra, now girls go on dates with tops that don't cover as much as my bra did and short skirts or shorts that show everything.
When I was young, our parents took us to church and the country churches were full, now if 15 show up we are lucky.  Parents used to talk to the children about God, now they rarely even talk to their children.   Our country not only took God out of the schools, but allowed God to be taken from the families as well.  Using the Lord's name in vain?  We do it every day in expressions of speech, our moral values, our daily walk without God.

Sorry for the soapbox and ranting.

I am looking forward to being with you, but it will have to be a few days.  I had surgery on my right soulder for rotator cuff tear yesterday. These pain pill knock me for a loop, I don't see why someone would take them for pleasure!    grandama
