Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Satan, GM crops and cloning

What a unique topic....and a great one too!!! I have to say I am dead against genetically modified food and here in nz it is a BIG problem because people here are trying to stop the government from introducing them into the food market. Cloning is just as bad - I just feel basically that only God has the right to create life and take it away - it just feels like a bad move to me.

I have one thing to say about this and I hope it does not start up a debate:
1 Corinthians 10 31So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. To me, if a song is singing about someone being murdered and since God's word also says about how we should not take an innocent life, then why would we want to listen to it? I guess what I am saying is that if the music we listen to does not glorify or give praise to God then we need to question why we are listening to it in the first place. NB: this is only my personal view I dont' expect anyone else to feel the same way.

Wow - that is an amazing testimony. I was thinking about your aunt after I read it and I had image of God in my head telling your aunt "well done thy faithful servant". Thanks for sharing it.

Prayer / General Discussion / When I say "I am a Christian"

What do you guys think of this? ___________________________
When I say "I am a Christian" I'm nto shouting "I am saved" I"m whispering "I get lost" That is why I chose this way
When I say "I am a Christian" I don't speak of this with pride I'm confessing that I stumble And need someone to be my guide
When I say "I am a Christian" I'm not trying to be strong I'm professing that I'm weak And pray for strength to carry on
When I say "I am a Christian" I'm not bragging of success I'm admitting I have failed And cannot ever pay the debt
When I say "I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be perfect My flaws are too visible But God believes I"m worth it
When I say "I am a Christian" I still feel the sting of pain I have my share of heartaches Which is why I seek his name
When I say "I am a Christian" I do not wish to judge I have no authority I only know I'm loved.

Theology / Apologetics / Re:Why?

hi Angie, what a great thread!!! I've always believed in God - I was raised that way but I think there is a difference between believing in God and knowing God - does that make sense? I hope so. I don't just believe in God but I also know God because he has helped me so much since I became a born again Christian. he is always there for me. The Psalms are right when they say that he is our rock, our salvation, our counsellor and our helper. I just think He is awesome!!! No other "faith" or "religion" could give me the peace I feel in my heart that God has given me.

I don't think that slagging off someone who respects Benny Hinn is positive do you? If he likes Benny, so be it, it's not for us to judge him or anyone else. Also, I know it says in the bible that we don't know the time or the date when Jesus is coming back - only God knows it. Call me, stupid but to me, you dont' accomplish anyone by putting them down. Why aren't we being humble instead of being self righteous?
