2  Theology / Bible Study / Peter's statement of faith on: February 02, 2004, 11:35:27 PM
30Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" --mattew 14
question:when Peter cried out:Lord save me! what does Peter want, did he want Jesus to save him out of the water.
My answer: no Peter want Jesus to save his soul. He wants spritial salvation. because Peter is a fisherman, if he only want to get out of water, he can simply swim back to his boat, which is not far away from him. From early verses that the diciples have a conversation with Jesus actually tell us that Jesus is not far away from the boat.
so when Peter cried out to Jesus:" Lord, save me" is actually a very remarkbal statement of faith. when peter is in trouble instead trying to find comfort by our own endeavour(swim to the boat), he turns to Jesus and depend on His strength all the time.

6  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re:E- VANGELISM - ANY IDEAS ? on: November 08, 2003, 02:53:15 PM
I am currently involving in a "religion exchange" forum, some people are interested in Christianity, but they have a lot questions when they were reading OT. We tried to answer their questions. it is funny that some of them they have a fellowship, but they are new there and they don't want offend people there, so they don't ask such questions in their fellowship but they asked us online. we are happy that we could help. and some people are impressed simply because they think we are nice people.
